Maybe this is a dumb question, but I am curious because as I read through the http://www.lds.org site, there is so much that comes from the Holy Bible and so little that comes from the Book of Mormon. I find so many similarities between yours and my religion. How much do you use one vs. the other? Why do you consider yourselves Christian but others refer to you as an Occult? (Figured I would try to get more than 1 question into this one.) I will not acknowledge any sarcastic answers from those of you looking to get 2 pts.

If you died, and had the choice of either spending all eternity in Heaven with George W. Bush, or in Hell with Satan, which would you choose, and why?

What's your proof that God doesn't exist? Why do you believe that? And give me details on why you don't believe it, not like "cuz he doesnt". I'm just wondering. Thanks.

There's no big red line to separate the sane from the mentally ill. Levels of sanity are incremental; they're more of a hue. And some forms of mental illness are not completely genetic. Environmental factors like physical abuse throughout childhood reshape attitudes and behavior. Of course you could point out other cases where children are abused but grow up well-adjusted but there are so many extenuating circumstances that cannot be measured and weighed in.

hi!! i was born to nonreligious parents, but i have been always honoring those who spend their lives as a devout and love their God. I feel such people are very passionate and i get so moved when i hear the feelings of a Christian towards Christ, it is so pure and selfless.

the only reason my mom says is good to be non religious is that we do not get engrossed in the irrelevant rituals that do not even keep u close to god but rather waste time. my mom tells me its better to love god rather then be religious and get distracted on the way of god, but i don't find any devotion in such ways

Is it possible to love Christ without being a Christian. Does the essence of Christianity revolve around celebrating Christmas, Easter, going to church every sunday, because i really cant do all this
if the basis of christianity is to love christ, can people of other community do this.

Since Christianity is supposed to address and resolve social problems, why does it let this 800 pound gorilla called slavery sit in the room without a leash?

Why were humans given the mental capacity to do such terrible things? seriously...for example....god didnt want us to murder, but he gave humans the mental ability to see "ok, this is how i can kill someone". why? not just murder, but if tattoos are a sin, then why do so many religious people get religious things tattooed on them? theres all sorts of stuff like this. if god didnt want us to do these things, then how come our brains were given the capability to do them?

Ok here's my story. I've recently wanted to go back to church or a christian club meeting at school. So, I did. Things were going great until this girl at my christian club started to pressure me into coming. The thing was, why pressure me if I'm already coming. She would constantly call me to see if I was going to make it or not, she just needed to hear the answer. She would constantly call to see if I could meet with her for bible study 3 times a week, sometimes 2 times in one day...then after I visited her church she called me the next day and asked, "Oh, so did you like it. How was the sermon, it was interesting, huh? Wasn't it?" The way she said it was not bluntly forceful but she wouldn't ask me a question...instead she would ask me a question with her answer to it, like the one mentioned earlier. No one and nothing will force me to want to get to know God faster than I already do. Geez! These "Christians" don't know that these are the very things...

James 2:24
Ye see then how by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

We are saved by the atonement and justified(worthy of the atonement) by works? So without works we cannot return to the presence of God in heaven?

In Leviticus 19:31 The Bible says: Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them". All these fall in the category of divinition (witchcraft), But a lot of people dont know this including Christians who are supposed to know 'spiritual things'. Can someone out there comment on this.

When I was younger, I read the entire KJV of the Bible. I'd like to reread it, but I was wondering which one to read. New American Standard? New International Version? The Amplified Bible? The Protestant Bible?

Any suggestions?

You are born against your will, you live in utter confusion (Unless you get lucky and become deluded throughout the whole thing), and then you die cold, alone, and to no avail. All vanity.

That's it. There is nothing more. I'm basically sure of it as are some of you.

All the good stuff in life is NOT worthwhile. It is just there to tantalize those of us who are unfortunate enough to be cured from the duel delusions of hope and love. It would be better if I found nothing remotely beautiful in the whole wide universe. That way I wouldn't miss anything when stuff gets destroyed. So long as there are good things to be destroyed, I am doomed to grieve endlessly.

Why do ALL the world's religions have to be so incorrect? Why can't at least one of them be correct? If one of them was, I could finally stop grieving.
