What's your proof that God doesn't exist? Why do you believe that? And give me details on why you don't believe it, not like "cuz he doesnt". I'm just wondering. Thanks.

I don't need any proof! I'm the skeptic. The person who makes the positive assertion bears the burden of proof.

Besides, I could never absolutely disprove your god. No one can. Know why? You can't prove a negative. I can't disprove Yahweh just like you can't disprove the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Being unable to disprove something doesn't necessarily indicate that the thing exists.

I believe that God does exist.

"You alone, Jehovah, are the God above all other gods in supreme charge of all the earth." (Psalms 83:18)

But there are other gods (of a sort) that also exist.

"The Scriptures at times refer to actual persons as gods. However, careful examination clearly reveals that the term “god” in these instances is not intended to designate these individuals as deities. Rather, in the original languages in which the Bible was written, the term “god” was also used to describe a mighty person, or, an individual who is divine or closely associated with the Almighty God."

I don't believe that the God that the Christians believe in exists as such.

The reason I believe this is that everything that a Christian may use to suport the existence of god has other more logical explanations.

My "proof" is the lack of any confirming evidence that there is anything to indicate the existence of the Christian god. In reality, there is no more reason to believe in the Christian God than there is in any other deity.

You may say that this isn't "proof", but proof of a negative simply isn't logically possible. One can offer no more proof of the non-existence of "god" than could one offer proof of the non-existence of fairies. Some people believe in these and I'm assuming that you do not. The "proof" would be just the same in either cae.

First of all, let me give you the stock answer:

It's impossible to prove an absolute negative, therefore the burden of proof lies with those who believe in god's existence.

Now that that's out of the way...

There is not one single shred of empirical, scientific evidence to support the existence of a god...any god.

Archeological evidence disproves the stories of the bible. The story of the flood, the existence of Jesus, humans formed from dirt/dust and a rib, Hebrew slaves in Egypt, the exodus of those slaves...nothing supports these stories. Combine this with the fact that many of these tales have related tales in other religions: Cain and Abel mirror Osiris and Set; Jesus and Hercules have many similarities; Jesus and Apollonius share an almost identical tale; there is a great flood tale in hundreds of cultures, the most famous being the Epic of Gilgamesh...this throws even more doubt on the 'factuality' of the bible.

When the 'infallible' word of god is either stolen (as in the case of similar tales) or proven wrong, the rest of the faith holds no water. Combine that with scientific knowledge (such as Evolution), and the whole thing falls apart.

Remember, a child doesn't 'know god' since birth. The concepts of faith must be taught.

It's not up to non-believers to prove to you that God doesn't exist any more than it's up to you to prove to me that unicorns DON'T exist. (If I'm telling you that they do.)
First, everyone is born an atheist. You need to be TAUGHT to believe in a God. WHICH God (out of the THOUSANDS that exist throughout the worlds religions) you believe in depends simply on who you're born to, and who is teaching you. If you were born to Christians, then that's what you believe, if you were born to Muslims, then that's what you believe, if you were born to Scientologists, then you'd be believing in an ALIEN that supposedly populated the earth. Now you're trying to tell the people who are atheists (the NATURAL state in which we were all born) that not only IS there a God, but that YOUR God is the right one. YOU are the one who has a theory to sell, so therefore, the burden of proof is on YOU.

There is no proof that he doesn't exist--just as there is no proof that Santa Claus doesn't exist! You can't prove a negative! The better question is: what's your proof that God does exist?

I guess the only answer you would understand is: I don't have any evidence that he DOES exist.

People who dont believe in GOD are ppl who dont like the idea that there is a power beyond them that controls their life's destiny. The only proof they have is ...' where is GOD...show me. But you know what, i believe even if GOD stood right infront of them, they will still question HIM. Only a significant event in their life will make them believe.

No one can prove that God exists or that God doesn't exist. We can just examine the evidence for his existence and make a decision about what we will believe. I believe that creation presents plenty of strong evidence that God exists. I have also seen compelling evidence in my own life. I choose to believe.

There is no evidence that there is a god. No evidence essentially means that someone made it up. It is not reasonable to believe in things without any evidence. You would be stuck with every ridiculous thing that human imagination could come up with.

Not believing in god is the same as not believing in Zeus, Odin, Santa, Anubis, the Tooth Faerie, and all the thousands of others since the evidence is exactly the same. I would be no less surprised if someone found evidence of Bacchus than I would be if they found evidence of your god.

Non-belief is the default. The children are indoctrinated into religion. They are pure before that happens, then they are not.

You have been indoctrinated and simply cannot conceive of not believing what you believe.

I don't believe what you do, never have. I have philosophical and academic opinions, but the bottom line is that nothing about religion has ever appealed to me or swayed me. That's it. You believe what you do, I don't. I don't need to prove anything about not believing what you believe.
