Then why is it when someone gets brain damage they can lose all of this? They can lose their memories, their general thinking power can be reduced to that of an animal, and their personality can be completly changed. Shouldn't the soul of the person remain the same no matter what?

I had a spiritual experience once, I saw God, and he gave me the choice to join him in the afterlife. I contemplated this offer, then politely said NO! I told him my reason for this answer was So i could stay on earth and spread his marvelous loVE.

But what i was really thinking was that Gods breath smelt funny and I wouldn't ab able to stand being in heaven with him because we all know God doesn't believe in breath mints. Also he seemed a bit lonely, and I'm sure he'd want talk allot Because hes so bored of all these people just worshiping him all the time, Never giving him any challenging thoughts, and just go along with whatever he says.

And you know those types of people are just not cool, A real friend of gods would Challenge his lies, sorry i mean (beliefs)

Have you ever told a racist or prejudiced joke about any particular race, culture or religion? Have you ever laughe at a racist or prejudiced joke about any particular race, culture or even a religion? Now I was in Polls and Surveys today just a little while ago. Anyway somebody asked a question that was downright offensive. Here's the link. So have you ever been involved in any kind of jokes such as this?

it seems that many christians believe that satan even has the power to create things and bring them into the world (such as evil). What are your beliefs?

Please, I have to ask you first to do me a favor: answer my question and do not stray away from the subject. My question is: If humans had to be "atoned" what would suffice as atonement?

teach you to follow the Old Testament LAWS
Tithing went out with Christ Romans 10:1-4
10 Commandments went out Mark 12:28-40 Beware of those men who do these things Gal 5:1-4 you have fallen from grace, LK 24:44-47 all has been fulfilled. Why do you follow the man that tells you untruths for material gain
We have an order how to give 1Cor 16:1,2 and we cannot give under compulsion as the LAW requires 2Cor. 9:6-8

why do you listen and follow the lie? Please give me biblical proof why you are worshiping under the curse of the LAW Gal. 3:10-25
Don't you see this is why we have so many atheists because you don't want to follow the truth that can only get you into His Kingdom John 4:23.
Even you catholics still worship under Fathers and Rabis and the bible clearly says DON'T DO IT! Mtt 23

As you walk up the steps to the U.S Supreme Court building you can see near the top a row of the world's lawgivers. In the center is Moses, and he is holding the Ten Commandments.

As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments engraved on the lower portion of each door.

There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington, D.C.

Congress has paid chaplains with tax dollars since 1789 to open sessions with prayer and to provide spiritual guidance to members and their staff upon request.

The very first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, wrote a letter to clergyman Jedidiah Morse stating:
"Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers."

I am Catholic and I sure would be offended by books/movies about the Wicked Catholic of West holding Dorothy captive in a confessional, and the Good Catholic of the North rescuing Dorothy by saying a prayer to the patron saint of shoes; or about Harry Potter and his friends going to Hogwarts Catholic School, where they learn to turn themselves into animals and to fly by saying the rosary and blessing themselves with holy water.

I just don't understand this, I'm a high school freshman and I feel like I lost my best friend to a religion/religious group. She is always with her youth group now and doing church related things. I've talked to her about it, and she admitted she thought she could make me believe the things she does. This youth group is always handing out fliers, making announcements at school, and having kids talk it up to go there. It bothers me that they are always a presence in my life, because I completely disbelieve everything about it. It seems that this year, they have been really wanting to convert everyone to believe what they do. I don't get why other religions (muslim, jews, hindus) don't feel the need to convert people, so why do christians?

I was raised Catholic, but rejected it at all costs since my mother forced me to go to church and as a youth, I always did the opposite of whatever she tried to get me to do. Now I'm not sure what I am...

I strongly believe in the interconnectedness of the world. I don't believe in reincarnation, but believe when we die, part of us remains connected to the Earthly world, but the rest of our spirit rejoins with God (since we came from Him).

I believe that Jesus was an inspirational man. Perhaps it was God's chance to show good to a world of chaos. I believe saints are inspirational people too. Praying is meditation. I don't believe that you can pray to "make things happen." God doesn't interfere like that. Though I suppose there are miracles...

I don't believe in hell. I believe in purgatory because God is compassionate. I do believe in one God, a greater power above all. And though beliefs vary among altruistic religions, I believe we all believe in the same spirit of one God.

I mean, if you walked into a building where there were a lot of famous biologists doing research, would you expect to find them all sitting around at a table having serious arguments about whether or not there's sufficient evidence for evolution? Why or why not?

Thanks in advance.
