It's not about immorality. My grandmother told stories about how when she was in high school people were having sex then just as often as now, except she thought maybe with fewer partners since girls had to be careful about their reputations. She is 70 this year The only difference is that back then people could make the connection of sex=baby and being that they didn't want a shotgun wedding that wouldn't work out in the end anyway they chose to use the calender method and other forms of birth control as they became available. Now we don't teach even the most basic forms of birth control or safe sex and people wonder why 50% of young people are carriers of HPV.

Nothing is immoral about nature, but if nature is living like animals, without reason then go act like a dog and do as you wish, because humans have will, and when the will supercedes our own notions, to do what is right, then we are better for it.
There aren't more teens having sex, get your facts straight, actually more of them are opting not to because of fear of other things.
Condoms dont stop people from having sex, they just promote the death of what possibly could have been your father or mother.
Read and learn before trying to look smart.

Humans are Humans and sex is sex. Education is the only way to help the kids. I have 4 boys of my own and continually press the necessity of abstinence, but also am a realist and tell them the dangers of unprotected sex. My hope is that when they do get to the point of something happening they won't impregnate an undereducated Christian Girl who refuses to participate in condom usage.

Sexuality is a basic need and urge among all animals-maybe the government should have an abstinence program against eating since the general population is overweight.

Religion prefers to handle the teen pregnancy problem by encouraging ignorance, rather than responsible behavior.
They're doing the same thing with their missionaries down in Africa. They're trying to teach them to control the AIDS epidemic down there through ABSTINENCE. They don't teach the people about condom use at all.

A program that would work and only cost about 20 bux per student would be to:
1. Supply all the girls with a vibrator and 2AA batteries, I've been unable to train any of my body parts to vibrate at 10,000ppm (pulses per minute).
2. Have catholic priests teach the boys how to be good abstinate men. (they obviously have it down)
*the opinions presented above do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the pope*

The problem actually lies with us as parents not with what their teaching in school. We are not doing a good enough job at home in rearing our kids. If we raise them righteously, take them to church, pray with them, etc. they may still end up having sexual relations before they are married. But, the percentage of teens doing so would be dramatically different.
I heard a saying once. If you let the village raise your kids, you end up with the village idiot.
We are the ones at fault for not teaching our kids better values and morals.

sweetie abstinence will almost never work because we are human and we need love, sex, heck we need those experiences because it's in our nature to love and want to be loved by others.they can preach it all they want but, what they really need to begin doing more is educating these pre-teens,teens and even adults about staying away from anything that doesn't feel safe and protecting themselves as well as others from diseases and infections, babies and all that comes with this sex responsibility.parents should stop thinking of it as being taboo and start discussing it with their kids at an earlier age don't wait until you hear about their first encounter begin encouraging good practices at an early age.there is a way to ease it in little by little.start with the small things and work their way up to the devastating stuff.that's the way I am with my kids and I hope that it's going to benefit them in the long run.

Sex is a funny topic. The more serious you get, the more sexual harrassment lingers above you. The less serious you get, the more fart and sex jokes will ensue. The question is, which side is more enlightened, if either, the ones that are terrified of a natural process, or the ones that embrace it?

Abstinence is completely against the grain of the human condition. Attempting to force something on the masses that is unnatural and constitutes, at best, subjective morality, does far more harm than good.
