The debate we're having involves two obvious religions..The Mormon Faith and Catholicism. Our disagreement centers around which of the two is currently the richest (monetarily) in the US today. If there's another that ranks up there with these we are unaware of it, but would like to know.

We are looking for any data available, from any source, as to which religion currently boasts the highest dollar amount, (including assets like property etc.),as of 2006.

If I choose your answer as the best...you are definitely going to heaven for helping.

"To show that an argument is invalid or unsound is not to show that the conclusion of the argument is false. All the proofs of God's existence may fail, but it still may be the case that God exists."

"In the absence of evidence for God's existence, agnosticism, not atheism, is the logical presumption. Even if arguments for God's existence do not persuade, atheism should not be presumed because atheism is not neutral; pure agnosticism is. Atheism is justified only if there is sufficient evidence against God's existence."

They've suspended all my accounts again. They don't respond when I complain. You know I haven't done anything against their rules. Must be gods will.

It is very frustrating to keep building again. I hope to see you all around in the future. I will miss you but for now, I've really had enough of this.

Parents are separated.
Parents live with me. What happens if I become a JW, and the father is still religious, but never goes to church, not an active member in a church.
Where do kids go for holidays....... one parent believes in "normal" holidays such as Christmas, and the other would not believe in any of the traditional.
What to teach kids....... what happens when holidays roll around.

Leave kids out of religion, or teach them, and completely do away with holidays........
what's a normal solution, that would make everyone happy.

This question was inspired by an answer I received to a previous question. Someone suggested that love would be defined by atheists as "merely a chemical reaction... no more miraculous than the fizzing of an Alka Selzer tablet."

Is love like fizzy water? Is it something more?

Many people erroneously believe that one becomes a "Christian" by joining a church, or by water baptism, or by giving a testimony before the church.

The Bible, the law book of God, clearly teaches that one must be born again (John 3). We know that no person told their parents waht eye/hair color they wanted. We do not choose our gender nor our intelligence. Neither do we choose the date that we are born into this world.

So it is with the spiritual birth. Many people on Y/A Religion quote John 1:12 but do not quote verse 13, which states: "Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." We also read in Romans 9:16, "So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy."

God has chosen those whom He would save (redeem) before the earth was even created (Ephesians 1). Our works cannot save us! Since faith is a work, your faith cannot save you either (1 Thess 1:3; 2 Thess 1:11)

Astrology should not even be consulted for amusement. It is connected with the forces of evil and can lead to other occult practices and bondage to sin.

Deut. 4:19
19 And when you look up into the sky and see the sun, moon, and stars—all the forces of heaven—don’t be seduced into worshiping them. The Lord your God gave them to all the peoples of the earth.

Deut 18:10
10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in [a] the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft,

Isa. 47:13
13 All the advice you receive has made you tired.
Where are all your astrologers,
those stargazers who make predictions each month?
Let them stand up and save you from what the future holds.

Please tell me why and when god became such a staunch supporter of the USA. A deity that is supposedly over 2,000 years old and created a universe so vast that only a handfull of people can comprehend, fights for and supports this tiny little nation of just over 200 years on this tiny little planet?

Is it because we founded our nation in the name of god? Well what happened when we fought the British in the Revolutionary War? God save the queen, right? He certainly wouldn't have helped George Washington and his band of traitorous rebels, right?

What if we went to war with another European Christian nation? They were all formed in the name of god before us. Even WWII Germany had more "god seniority" if you will, than we did. Oh, but what they did was considered wrong, correct? What about most of the world now that thinks the USA is wrong in Iraq?

If god is involved, does that mean he let 9/11 happen? Certainly if he can help us fight and kill, he can intervene in matters too?

Anyone who believes in something..reguardless of their religion or lack of...it's simply that...a belief. All our choices are unproven...so why can't we support each other. A wiccan believes in God's/Goddesses....A christian one God....and so on. Everyone has some form of book to back them up....most all were written around the same time frame (some older than others). But NO ONE HAS SOLID proof.
So are we all right...or do the athiests win???

No. Christ taught that we must repent, believe, and be baptized to be saved (Mark 16:16; Matt. 4:17; John 3:3-5). Baptism, for example, requires more than just the Bible: it requires water and someone with authority to perform the baptism. The Bible teaches that Christ organized a Church and gave His apostles special keys and authority - authority to seal in heaven (Matt. 16:16-19), in fact, and that His Church was guided by revelation from Christ to His apostles and prophets which would provide unity and direction to believers (Eph. 4:11-14). Men claiming to rely on the Bible alone - cut off from prophetic revelation - have resulted in so much disunity and confusion about the Gospel that there are something like 3,000 Christian churches today with many contradictions in doctrine and ritual. Something more is needed for the work of the ministry: revelation and guidance from God through His chosen and authorized leaders.
