An atheist I am. I take care to be respectful of those 'primitive superstitions', though. There is something to be learned from every belief system - yes, religion inclusive. I may not agree that deities watch over us, but I make an effort to learn about the beliefs of others and discuss them without insulting them. I am, after all, secure in my own beliefs.

I see you are a recent arrival to Maslow's 3rd Level in his Hierarchy of Needs... congrats.

I too am an atheist. But I have surpassed my need to state my love for being "free of primitive superstitions". Personally, Im on the search for self-actualization....

The intellectual weight of this argument is massive. Just call another belief a "primitive superstition" and, voila, it is so.

I'm an atheist and I appreciate the freedom it gives me to explore philosophies like Buddhism which are far more logical and coherent than Christianity.

I'm not and trust me there are no superstitions in my prayers,,I know Jesus talks to me in more ways than one...

i am not athiest but pagan and i think u guys have a good belief system and whatever works for you always be true to it and never let another religion put you down for it
