Abortion is something that occurs mainly to the ignorance of its supporters. I think few people realize just how racist and sexist abortion is in its roots. The starter of the Planned Parenthood movement, the largest supporter of abortion in America, was primarily for racist reasons of wishing to reduce the number of blacks in America. This has been reported enough times that I don't feel it's necessary to need defense, and Planned Parenthood has never made any attempts to disassociate themselves with the claims.
90% of the abortions in America are of black babies.
75% of the abortions in America are female babies.
Globally, 95% of the babies aborted are female, and 86% are of minorities in a given area, either racially or ethnically.

I don't think all people who support abortion are racist and sexist, but I do think they are woefully uninformed about the very nature of abortion. Cuso1 said that it is because the baby is connected to the body of the mother. That doesn't seem like any type of reasoning to me to kill it. With that logic, if a conjoined twin murdered their other twin, it likewise wouldn't be considered murder. There is little reason behind abortion. We have established scientifically that human life starts pretty much at conception. There isn't a single twisted definition that would argue otherwise. The only difference between what abortionists say "a fetus vs a baby" is location.

If we start using location as a standard for the value of life, there is a horribly devilish slope which begins. By that reasoning, we can justify any type of horrid acts against pretty much anyone.

Most christian churches have no problem saying that we can make war against each other. The vast majority of the armed forces in Iraq are christians who belong to denominations that have not said that war is wrong. I wish it were otherwise.

As far as a woman killing her own child, I don't know of any western religions that allow that.

If you are talking about killing a fetus, the bible is clear that this is in no way murder but is, rather, a property crime against the father of the fetus. The fetus in christian mythology only has a soul when it has been born and has taken at least one breath. I would also point out that women often spontaneously abort fetuses. Certainly if you believe that a creator intelligently designed the woman's womb then he must not have had a problem with abortion.

A while back somebody made the point that of all the men that were crying out against abortion, only a very small percentage were willing to pay child support. As far as war goes, there's always going to be somebody wanted to start a war for some reason or another, abortion or no.

I 'agree with you' in many ways on the 'subject' of abortion ... to me abortion is 'murder' ... but I also realize that there are some women out there who just 'can't go through with having this child' for MANY DIFFERENT REASONS. They must 'live with the results' of their 'abortions' and I have yet to meet any woman who is 'happy with that decision' ... but I still 'support abortion rights' because I think that 'whether or not to get an abortion' is the 'individual right of the pregnant woman' to make for herself.
I don't tell people 'not to make war against each other' either ... but not because I 'approve of war' ... but because this 'world peace' we all seem to 'want to believe in' is not something that will come through 'countries' but from us as INDIVIDUALS WHO CHOOSE PEACE OVER WAR. I am a 'peaceful person' and I 'prefer finding a peaceful solution' to 'fighting' whether it be 'at war' or when I disagree with my husband ... and I do try to 'live that outside the home' as well as 'on the Internet. At the same time, though, I 'support' the SOLDIERS who are fighting the war in Iraq ... actually I 'support the soldiers' on 'both sides' of that war, and all of the poor people who are 'caught between the two forces of battle' ... for the same reason I support abortion rights ... because EACH ONE OF US MUST MAKE UP HIS OWN MIND WHAT IS RIGHT ... and NONE OF US SHOULD IMPOSE HIS VIEWS ON ANY OTHER PERSON ALIVE.

you make a good point but it is man's fallen, sinful nature that
is the main cause of world problems.
also just because finite man's tech can keep children
alive earlier and earlier does that mean children in the past
who did not survive outside the womb because science wasn't as good were just
blobs of flesh or a growth on the mother.?...but now when med
tech is better than all of a sudden a child who is only 3 months
along and can be kept alive gets validated
as a human being because our technology is better.
that's man's arrogance.
what about the 2 month old that we can't keep alive today
but may be able to years from now? a child in the womb
is a human being because GOD created them not because
science can keep one child alive and not another depending
on what our skills are and how old the child is.
scientific skills that change over time don't decide what
a person is. the soul that is made in GOD's image does.

I assume you are talking about abortion here so 1st I must point out that it is an embryo not a child and is is unable to survive on it's own. Also the embryo is only 1/2 the mother but so is each egg cell and each sperm cell is 1/2 the farther and both have the potential to become fully formed human being if we say to a woman that she can refuse an offer of sexual reproduction (and so destroy the same potential life as an embryo) how can we tell ppl not to make war against each other? Think before you protest that is the fundamental mistake so many people make. Say no to jesus

I agree with you completely. However, cuso1's reasoning seems to me utterly flawed. To say that a fetus is connected to the mother's body and can't live on its own is certainly no proof for the argument that a "mother" should therefor be allowed to do whatever she wants. Why? Because it's tautolgical (circular) reasoning at its very worst. Where else would a human fetus be attached? Has anyone ever seen anything else other than a human infant come out of a human womb? And please don't give me that crap about "What is a human or "person"?. I tore that debate apart. Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun wrote the opinion for the court and equivocated like hell on the word "person" as it is written in the 14th Amendement. That amendment created two kinds of "persons"- fictions and non-fictions, and on this basis wrote that a fetus, "presenting certain fourteenth-amendment difficulties", could not receive protection by the courts, thereby shamefully skirting his duty to be an objective interpreter of the Constitution. I ran this by lawyers, personal views not expressed, and every one of them told me that my interpretation of that dreadful opinion was exactly correct (on the understanding that I would not attempt to reveal their identities, or publish any material using their names, or make any speech presentations using their names). Your question is a good one that highlights the hypocrisy in this nation. As to the "saynoto Jesus" respondent- An "offer of sexual reproduction"? You haven't had any in a while have you? So, before you have sex, you make an "offer of sexual reproduction"? Stop it!!! Stop it!!! You're KILLING me!!!!!! lolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololol.HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!!!!!!!!! "Hey, baby- before we attempt coitus, can I make you an offer of sexual reproduction?" WHEW!!!!!!! It doesn't come any goofier than this!!!!!! Such ignorance SHOULD HURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Abortion and War are two entirely different subjects that have different circumstances.
If you are referring to the sudden influx of women killing and abusing their children... I believe all the bitches are sick and in need of some serious help. The pardoning and condoning of such crimes is absolutely sickening. Actually wars are started mostly over ego, power and land. Thou shall not kill pertains to all not just those who believe it. We aren't living in the Old West where it was OK to gun innocent people down because they disagreed with you.
Politics and double standards are a mother f***** aren't they?

We do not say that a mother can kill her own child. Many mothers are serving life for doing just that.

The issue is that some believe a fetus is a child before it is born and some do not. Those involved in wars are all born and all humans in their own right.

The two issues are not alike.

OMG easy to say for a man. I've never had an abortion but I have friends who have and the last thing they need is a lecture from you. They made a hard decision based on their personal situation.
