Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40).

Hey all, I have lately been hooked on a game called Star Wars Galaxies. I used to play it nonstop but then took a break for a while. When I asked my dad if I could subscribe again, he made a deal with me that whatever God said, he would go with. Now, would God mind if I played this game? I wouldn't play it nonstop, I would take hours maybe even days off at a time, but does God mind if I play this game?

some twenty- three years ago we bought a house facing a road junction. we did not know the bad omens. we are indians in malaysia. then a temple priest from india advised us to place, his holyness lord ganesha, facing the junction. i took the advise and did it. for the past 12 years or so i have been doing morning pujas for the lord. i also became a total vegetarian. i am happy, but off late i feel i have not done the pujas correctly. i bath the lord every morning and decorate with flowers from my house compound. i light a lamp and incense and recite the ganesha mantra three times. i also bath the lord with milk every thursdays. but i feel something is missing. please help.

You guys are logical folks right? Which of these thoughts are more logical and probable to occur?

A. "Grrr, I want to kill that guy, I hate him. I hate him, I hate his wife, I hate his children, Hell, I hate his dog too! I want to kill him, slice his guts and feed him to the monkeys! Oh hey, what's this? Ooooh....my holy book says I CAN do this. Time to kill him."

or

B. "Look, I'm really sorry bro, it's not like I want to kill you, but I really must kill you. It's written in my holy book, I really wish there's another way around, but what to do? Again, I'm really, really sorry...."

So, which is more logical,

Religion as reason to kill, or religion as excuse to kill?

My step-daughter and her room-mate came to stay for spring-break from college. Last night I read their fortunes with regular playing cards as my Grandmother taught me to. I do not mess with Tarot and such. As I read it I saw 2 people attached to her but got a sense of de-tachment with them, yet they were close to her. a bit after they went to bed I kept feeling like someone was behind my right and left shoulders. I couldn't shake it, it followed me everywhere I went last night. Now today, I still have the same sensation, it is very strong and the man is on the right and he seems to be flailing his arms at me for attention or something. The lady o the left is very quiet. The room-mate obviously brought somethings with her, but they are attracted to me for some reason. It's getting annoying already, like having someone constantly breathing down your neck. I can only sense a presence, not communicate with it. What is that guy waving his arms around for?

As a research associate in the field of Quantum Mechanics and Astro-physics I feel that I am hindered from making any substantial progress in finding the relationship between the physical and nonphysiological realities by the basic premise of scientific methodology which relies on the boundaries set forth by empirical observations being the only valid criteria for consideration. With the COBE satelites validation of the uniform microwave cosmological background radiation which Stephen Hawking described as the single most important discovery of the century we have evidence of the creation account which lines up with the Biblical story in Genesis. What I see as the next frontier for science is the study of the origins of consciousness in light of the discovery of the beginning of our space/time continuum. As I scientist I can observe the actions of intelligent volition and in the law of causality insists upon a possible transcendency beyond the point of singularity. Do I see God here?

How many land dwelling animals are on the earth and can anyone estimate the size it would take to house them all? Also does the Noahs Ark story talk about insects? If you add all land Mammals, insects reptiles, and birds together in pares of two how large would that be? I would say that the Ark would be larger than the mountain that the fake was found on. Would it be a 5 miles height, length, and width, or more? I understand that it is not possible, but how large would it be if there were two of everything land dwelling?

NIV bible 2 Peter 2:1 through 2:3............But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereighn Lord who bought them---bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping."

Adultery is wrong because it involves a third party that gets hurt.
Molestation and rape is wrong because it is a violent act upon another human being.
Consentual sex between two people is a fantastic thing and NOT a sin.
Do you agree?
Apparently some people don't

Based on the answers to my questions:

1) Competent scientists don't mind working with a sample as small as 1/1,000,000,000,000 of the total population

2) Scientists see change and assume "evolution" without testing "devolution"

3) Scientists resort to emotional responses rather than providing data

4) When questioned on details, answers take the form of assumptions colored by the thoery. Scientists are unwilling to test their own work or allow others to do so.

5) Finally, when asked if evolution in bacteria provides assumptions that can be used in evolution in humans, most answers just said yes.

(Sorry guys, this last one was a trap, and you sprung it, big time! Bacteria can evolove into a different species in only a few generations. Humans have never been observed evolving. Bad scientists! Bad conclusion! I call it "blind faith!")

I actually pondered this when I was watching Jigoku Shoujo. So anyway, let say that at the age of 20, you signed a contract with the Devil for your soul, and when you die you are eternally damned to Hell. So, whatcha gonna do for the rest of your life?

1. Sin like Hell, you are going to Hell anyways.
2. Seek religious help, perhaps God can.
3. Do some community work, well at least you'll help the world a bit.
4. Just...live your life like usual.
5. Ponder your whole life, when you will meet that beautiful purgotory girl again.

I had no idea, until a few days ago when I signed up here, that there was any tension between Christians and Muslims. What did I miss? Why all the talk. I see it everywhere here! Lots of Why do Christians hate Muslims, etc. I don't hate Muslims! I never have! Where on earth did this mass assumption start? How can we end it? Noone can cast a generalized hatred like that. If there were only 5 muslims in the workld and all of them were all around terrible people we could maybe say that. But there are vast numbers, the majority of whom I'm sure are caring, law and god abiding folk. So what gives?

"It is indeed better (as no one ever could deny) that men should be led to worship God by teaching, than that they should be driven to it by fear of punishment or pain; but it does not follow that because the former course produces the better men, therefore those who do not yield to it should be neglected. For many have found advantage (as we have proved, and are daily proving by actual experiment), in being first compelled by fear or pain, so that they might afterwards be influenced by teaching, or might follow out in act what they had already learned in word." --Saint Augustine, Treatise on the Correction of the Donatists.
