I think you should give your tithes to your local church home, if you have one. Feel free to give offerings to other churches if you are so lead. Giving is not so much a matter of God needing your money, as it is a show of faith, obedience and stewardship. Giving opens up the doors for you to receive. As our local churches and our televised churches show faithfulness in God, they will be blessed in both financial and spiritual ways.

I cant think of a TV evangelist worthy of 5 bucks yet alone ones tithe

No, if you trust the TV Evangelist. Money used for kingdom purposes is good. I trust my local church with how they use their money.
