an apostle asked Christ how great John the Baptist was. Christ replied ," the least in heaven is greater than he". Which at that time to me indicated that John the baptist wasn't very great. Until one day the bible quoted Christ's statement that "the least in heaven is the greatest in heaven". I will leave the rest to you. but yes i think Paul was the best. isn't it ironic that he started out as the worst? That is why god takes losers and makes users out of them . Because of their former ways they are more willing to go the extra mile.

John. Jesus said to Peter about John: And if I chose to let this man live until my return, what is it to you?
John penned, and structured the book of Revelation, a prophetic book for believers today, as the book of Daniel was meant for the old testament people, and the people of the first resurrection in the first century. Over them, the second death has no power.

The one who did the most to spread the Gospel was unquestionably Paul. I like Peter, with his hard-headedness. We're all like that sometimes. John, the beloved disciple, to whom Jesus entrusted the care of His earthly mother, and to whom was given the Revelation- he's up there. But I think I identify most with Matthew, the tax collector. The guy who was just sitting there, dedicated to wordly gain, despised by almost everyone, and when Jesus went by and said, "Come with me"- he dropped his tax books and followed like a child. Sometimes I feel a little like Matthew, and I'm so glad Jesus asked me to come with Him too.
But I think the disciple everyone forgets, Mary Magdalene, was one of the greatest also. Jesus chose her as the first person to see Him when He was resurrected. That's a high honor.

I personally like Peter the best. He was so like I would be. When Jesus was arrested he cut off the guard's ear, to defend Christ, but in the next breath he denied Christ out of fear. He was the one who got out of the boat to go to Jesus when Jesus was walking on the water, but got scare and started to sink. He was so strong and frail at the same time.
