Hey all, I have lately been hooked on a game called Star Wars Galaxies. I used to play it nonstop but then took a break for a while. When I asked my dad if I could subscribe again, he made a deal with me that whatever God said, he would go with. Now, would God mind if I played this game? I wouldn't play it nonstop, I would take hours maybe even days off at a time, but does God mind if I play this game?

Pray to God and ask God.

You can question yourself if this game is more important to you than God. Is it an addiction? If so, then maby it is an idol in your life.

You need to love the Lord thy God with all your heart mind soul & strength. Not have any idols or other gods before God. Also. addictions are expensive, and I know. My son got addicted to sorcery on line games & ended up with a negative balance in his account that I had to fill and close his account.

If you are going to play an ungodly game 24/7, God is going to have to discipline you. I know, because God is my God. So, pray to God in spirit & truth and get the conviction in your spirit. Repent. Then you can probably play the game again. As God allows.

This is a tough question. Not because it's difficult to tell you the logical answer bluntly, but because it's difficult to tell you the logical answer without making you feel like I'm attacking your faith. I grew up in a Christian home and my dad is a pastor. That said, here's my answer:
It's a video game. If God were going to dictate to you how you spent your leisure time, he would also dictate to you how to spend every other waking moment of your life. You would have none of the free will that the bible boasts that you have been given. Does God mind if you eat a hamburger for dinner? Or would he rather you eat lasagna? It's the same kind of question. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why your dad said that, no offense. It almost seems as if your dad doesn't approve of you playing the video game, and as such, has given you an impossible task (gaining God's go ahead, because how can it be proven that God said yes?) in order to wash his hands of telling you that he thinks video games ar not fun. Because he doesn't enjoy them, he feels that you are wasting your time. I say that you have your own mind and your own life. Now, if you have your own computer and your own registration fee, play Galaxies to your hearts content, and neither your dad nor God can say anything about it. Not that God would tell you to take up knitting instead of Galaxies as a hobby.
On a side note: I also was addicted to Galaxies for a while. Nothing wrong with that. It's a great game.

Um...no...I'm not even Christian (my mom and sister are) and I can answer that. Are you really killing anyone? No. Is what your doing challenging Gods power or existence in anyway? No. Just the fact that your making such a big deal out of it should make God understand that you really do care. I'm sure he wont mind you playing nonstop as long as your still pray and go to church on Sundays. Just watch your mouth when you die.
