Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40).

Good thought and here goes: The First Commandment is: I am the Lord, Thy God . Thou shalt have no other God's before Me. What does this mean ? We should fear, love and trust in God above all things .
The Second Commandment is:
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless, that taketh His name in vain.
What does this mean ?
We should fear and love God so that we do not curse, swear, conjure, lie, or deceive by His name, but call upon Him in every time of need, and worship Him with prayer, praise and thanksgiving.
The Fifth Commandment is:
Thou shalt not kill.
What does this mean ?
We should fear and love God, so that we do our neighbor no bodily harm, nor cause him any suffering, but help and befriend him in every need.
It is the eight and ninth and tenth Commandments who speak about our neigbors. God said all of this !

God said Thou shalt not commit murder. Jesus made the other 2 quotes as the greatest commandments. All are correct.

"Thou shalt not kill" is the fifth commandment|

All other commandments in the Bible, and all the teachings of the Church, are nothing but corollaries of the commandments to love God and neighbor|

For example, if you love, you will not fornicate, murder, commit adultery, abuse another, and that sort of thing - the law of love sums up the law and the prophets|

A precise philosophical definition of love is willing, wishing, and working for the good and happiness of the other as you see that other as another self - even to the extent of making sacrifices for that person| And that necessarily requires supernatural grace in the soul of the one who loves|

Spurious religion, on the other hand, is *piety without love* (i.e. those who say 3 hours of Rosaries a day, but do not love their brother), *faith alone* (which is false doctrine), and *good works without love* where one has a reputation among others of being charitable, but that person is doing good works only to be admired by others and to think of themselves as a good person, but there is no love in the true sense of the word, as when they deal with someone in secret, they abuse that person|

The 10 commandments say "thou shalt not commit murder"

Scripture also says that there will be wars and that these things must come to pass:

Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

When there are wars how do you avoid the killing of people?

God is not unrealistic but some of those who like to quote his scriptures are.

His "Grace" is neither of two "law"s in Mt 22: 36-40;
Which flat out notes "the second is like unto the first",
and the first in Roman 8:2's law law is "sin and death".

Law is "both good + evil" ends with "evil" concupiscence.
Haven't we seen a lot of "such like" among priests late-ly.

It is the 5th commandment. Thou shall not kill. Murder is voluntary and the unjust killing of human being.

It also forbids suicide, fighting, anger, hatred, revenge, drunkenness and bad examples.
