If someone does not believe that there is a God, for lack of proof or whatever, why would they believe in satan? There is no proof od satan either.

Hell, I think there is a God but I know that there is no satan. Men made up hell and satan to control the masses.

If the Gospel of Judas is valid, not saying it is but it does seem supported by 1 other Gospel, then did Judas not make the ultimate sacrifice. Giving his salvation in exchange for the salvation of humanity?

Would any Christian be capable of such a sacrifice if it was required of you?

A recent poll finds 25% of the US population expects the world to end this year, with Jesus coming back to save them in THE RAPTURE.
Well dudes, I'm an atheist, so will I just get to squeak by, along with my other 4 billion friends here who don't believe in your curiously cute guy, who wore a toga and hung out with his close, very close buddies in the desert, drinking wine and whatever?

Im honestly not trying to start anything...Im not like that. I am agnostic and I have been starting to wonder why. I guess I don't want to believe in something (referring to God) for one:when I don't see him and second: for someone that has caused my family so much pain and suffering. But it is starting to make me wonder if maybe its a good time in my life to believe in God? I have 2 little kids, a husband that is a firefighter, and Im starting to think that I don't want to be stuck in a box for the rest of my life. I want to think that my family is waiting for me up there...and that after I die, I know that I will be with my husband and children. Such a lonely feeling. I don't know why Im thinking about this so much. Is is wrong for me to believe in Him, when I have been agnostic all my life? Is it wrong to believe in God when I don't like churches...or feel comfortable in churches?

christians, i'm not meaning to be insulting or anything, but why is your god a jealous got if he is the only one? Why do you say that there is only one god if even the 10 commandments it says nothing about this god being the only one. (and if you don't believe me then check out #1, it says "do not worship any other gods")

"thou shall not kill" (Exodus 20:13; Deuteronomy 5:17),

Jesus amplifies the meaning of the sixth commandment. He brings out that to commit murder means more then just killing someone, it means having an angry and unforgiving attitude towards them. The apostle John elaborates on this by writing that to hate someone is the same as murdering them (1 John 3:15).

"We are the Muslims," said Omar Brooks, an extremist also known as Abu Izzadeen. "We drink the blood of the enemy, and we can face them anywhere. That is Islam and that is jihad."

He has said Prophet Mohammed's message to nonbelievers is: "I come to slaughter all of you."

This is what he says. What do Muslims say? Do you drink blood?

To err is human, to forgive divine.

I mean no offence by this question yet am curious to others opinion on this issue. Forgiveness at its roots, is something with religious value, I will not sit here and proclaim that it was a Christian Idea, but it is rooted within religion, so heavily it is hard to ignore. However if Atheists lack the ability to "forgive" what des one call it when they absolve someone of there misgivings towards the atheist? Just some food for thought.

Sacrifice your salvation for the salvation of another?

Would you argue an atheist perspective, even going as far as to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit, in order to bring someone else closer to salvation?

Many an atheist would make the ultimate atheist sacrifice of laying down their lives for the chance to save the life of another. I just want to know if the same goes for Christians.

Here's my question to people or rather something I want to hear people's oppinion on, Mostly this question is for Religous and or Spirtual people, atheists and bastards who like to stab people for beliving something please leave it alone. Now anyway, Here's the thing, if you walked into a Chruch right now and said to a priest "Um dude there's like a demon in my house and he's trying to possess my mother." Right what would the preist do? Call the cops? Call the nutterhouse? Yet in the bible it talks about Christians (or Chatliocs whatever) batteling demons, and talking with spirits and healing the sick? DOn't you think that there's something missing in all this? LIke we lost a important part of what being a Christian is. If what's in the bible is true I belive that we have. I think Witches today have more right to call themselves Christains then we do, at least they do something about fighting ghosts and demons that they belive are around them. What are you're thoughts?

You can't have it both ways.

If man has "free will" than nothing is written in stone. The future is open... anything can happen.

If Revelations is true, then our future is already pre-determinded.

So which is it?

PS. Why would a "god" create a Universe only to destroy it at some point? What sense does that make?

The traditional version is that he actually rose from the dead and was seen by the disciples who were unable to touch him - and eventually He ascended into heaven. But for non-Christians it's all a bit hard to take put in such a way - and consequently - a lot get put off. It's the old problem of the "words getting in the way of the message". My reading is simple. An amazing man (who seems to have been the epitome of God) lived an incredible life and was cruelly put to death. Afterwards - something amazing happened - and the bodily Jesus - took another form - not necessarily human and it was this supernatural event that means that if we believe - He can live within us. There have been many great teachers - who when they die have remained in people's thoughts and minds and been powerful guides - but after Jesus died - something very special and inexplicable took place and if we take away the mystery - then we lose much of the significance.
What's your own reading of events?
