The traditional version is that he actually rose from the dead and was seen by the disciples who were unable to touch him - and eventually He ascended into heaven. But for non-Christians it's all a bit hard to take put in such a way - and consequently - a lot get put off. It's the old problem of the "words getting in the way of the message". My reading is simple. An amazing man (who seems to have been the epitome of God) lived an incredible life and was cruelly put to death. Afterwards - something amazing happened - and the bodily Jesus - took another form - not necessarily human and it was this supernatural event that means that if we believe - He can live within us. There have been many great teachers - who when they die have remained in people's thoughts and minds and been powerful guides - but after Jesus died - something very special and inexplicable took place and if we take away the mystery - then we lose much of the significance.
What's your own reading of events?

I suppose, then, that you don't believe all the other Bible accounts of supernatural dying/living? Elijah raising the widow's dead son, Elijah being taken up to heaven in a whirlwind without dying, Moses and Elijah appearing with Jesus on the mount of transfiguration, all the dead people Jesus raised back to life...? You won't believe Jesus' account of Lazarus and the rich man dying and being alive in heaven/hell respectively. If there is no resurrection of the dead, then neither has Christ been raised, and Christians are more to be pitied than any others. I didn't invent that last thought. The apostle Paul said it in 1 Corinthians ch 15:1-20.

If you say Christ was only raised symbolically, or spiritually (as opposed to the Bible saying his body was raised back to life but glorified so as to be fit for heaven) then you can dispense with nearly half of the New Testament. Perhaps we have here a case of the FACTS getting in the way of our flawed reason. Just because something doesn't square with our experience, or fit in with our idea of logic, it must be wrong. Really? Conjure up your own mystery and call it significant? I'll stick with the 500+ eyewitnesses who saw and heard the risen Christ, thank you.

i do no longer understand what you advise by technique of Paul makes no connection with the empty tomb... except he in basic terms would not use those words. He does write of Jesus being buried and turning out to be from the lifeless 3 days later because it were prophesied interior the Scritpure. in reality maximum of financial ruin 15 the following is dedicated to the outcome of His resurrection. His resurrection, like ours to come back, is a resurrection of the body. yet... with a change interior the nature of that body. The previous body is changed... molecular structure and all that jazz. Reanimation (colours of Reanimator) is way more effective like the Zombie horror thoughts the lifeless are up and walking round yet they are nonetheless lifeless and nonetheless interior the attitude of decaying. Resuscitation on the different hand is only respiratory air lower back into the lungs... so that they were by no ability lifeless interior the first position. Mary is requested why are you in search of the living between the lifeless. Jesus died... there became no mistaking that. Jesus became buried... back no mistaking that. Jesus became resurrected.... He became given existence lower back back from His Father. Resurrected ability to upward push back. i do no longer imagine there is any doubt that the writers of the gospel, the church which became formed and grew interior the days and years following this blessed experience, believed something except Jesus easily rose from the lifeless.

Actually, when Jesus first appeared to the disciples after His resurrection, He invited them to touch Him to see that He was real and ate with them to show that He was no illusion or ghost - as they feared He might be.

The 'something very special and inexplicable' was His sacrifice for us, His subsequent resurrection, and His sending of the Holy Spirit.

No mystery, just wonder and amazing grace.

I don't know whether he was bodily resurrected although that seems to be what the scripture says but that isn't really the important thing in my opinion; His spirit lives on and through his death He has sent us the Comforter.

You will believe what your upbringing and others tell you. You will limit any serious research strictly to the pages of the Bible, and make dreams in your own image, because fear of death overrides logic. The resurrection is a sham. Why did Jesus have holes and scars in his body when he was made new? Why not a perfect unblemished body as promised to all Christian believers?

you just asked us to explain the whole bible in a nut shell....well, the crux of Christianity is the resurrection of Christ.which was proved since the day Adam was created. Christian faith has a Strong hold on this belief that Christ was crucified and died and 3 days later as written in the bible from time to time (from Genesis...) ROSE AGAIN. He defeated the Death and went up to heaven to be seated on the throne....com on people please add some of ur thoughts...
