Let me step back and add in my view point here. I strongly believe that Christ was sent here to earth in order to show us a higher way of life or to "Give us salvation" as some would call it. I believe that he was the perfect example, meaning he did everything we ought to do. I will not say Mary was Jesus' wife because I have no evidence supporting this matter. But please I beg you OPEN your' mind. It is possible that Christ had a wife and children. I'm not saying this because of the DaVinci code but there have been books written on such subjects, and Finally WHO ARE WE TO LIMIT GOD? Search within yourself for Gods answer and if that does not work than find one that knows, (By their works ye shall Know Them") Research Joseph of Aramethia (Christ's Cousin) and there should be something on the matter. Good Luck!! Best wishes and Peace

Please, PLEASE do not base any of your faith on The Vinci Code! It is a fiction book and not meant to teach you anything. It was purely meant to be read at the beach.
Jesus was never married. Jesus did not have a sexual relationship outside of marriage because that would be sin and he is sinless. Therefore he never had any children which means he has no physical descendents.
• Though Jewish men of Jesus’ day were usually married, there were many exceptions. For example:
– The Essenes of the Dead Sea community at Qumran remained single.
– The apostle Paul was single (1 Corinthians 7:7).
– In both Judaism and Christianity,
singleness and celibacy were esteemed as a
means to complete devotion to the Lord (1 Corinthians 7:32 – 33).
– While most rabbis were married, Jesus more closely fulfilled the role of a prophet. Prophets often remained single to be wholly devoted to the Lord.
– John the Baptist, the prophet and forerunner of the Messiah, was unmarried.
• All of the evidence indicates Jesus was single.
– Jesus said the Son of Man had no place to lay his head (Matthew 8:20; Luke 9:58).
– From the cross, Jesus commends his mother to John’s care, but does not mention a wife.
– There is no hint of any sexual or marital relationship between Jesus and the women who supported him.
• There is not a shred of early or reliable historical evidence that Jesus was married.

I ythink you mean descendents.
For his ancestors to be still alive they would have to be over 2000 years old.
The Da Vinci Code novel depicts the girl as being a descendent of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. However, that is simply a novel. "Novel" means an imaginative story - something that is made up. It is as if I were asking if Goldilocks really existed, and if the 3 bears were a family of bears that could actually talk.
Jesus had no descendents, because, due to the nature of his ministry, he had no wife. He came with the single purpose of dying for our sins, rising again, and going up to Heaven.

The Bible gives no information on Jesus having been married or having any children. While the DaVinci Code claims that, there is nothing from the first 400-500 years of Christianity to suggest that it is true. Remember that Dan Brown has consistently stated that the DaVinci Code is a work of fiction (not true).
While there are several known "non-bible" accounts of Jesus, none of them claim a marriage or a child for him. So if there was one, no information about it is known.

For God's sake, Burn that book. Why are people so ignorant as to believe that a book which states on its cover that it is a NOVEL (ergo fiction) is true. Better you read the Bible and learn wisdom. And I THINK you mean descendants, not ancestors. YBIC

Da Vinci Code = fiction, rehash of crazy potboiler "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" from the 70s, which is a string of historical inaccuracies threaded together by far-out speculation.
