It seems that christians here seem very predisposed to tell others how they should live their lives. And, in our society, they do it very regularly, too.

They want to ban gays from marriage, claiming gays will ruin the institution of marriage, yet they ignore their own jesus-myth's tenets against divorce, and christians divorce like crazy (at a rate of roughly 1 in 2) -- and, in my opinion, are responsible for the "damage to marriage" and the family unit. Not gays... And adultery. Pre-marital sex... Whoa! It's all rampant! The killing and racism...

The list goes on and on and on, so I won't exhaust it.

But, why would it be unreasonable to expect them to LIVE THEIR OWN VALUES EVERY DAY before they try to tell others that they need to live by the tenets in their mythological religious text called the bible? For every scripture they quote against people, I can find ten that they ignore regularly... And, our Constitution says we don't have to follow ANY cult text. Right?

i.e. "Jesus was not killed, he was swapped with a look-alike"

or

"Aisha was NOT 6 years old when 53 year old Mohammad married her, and she was not 9 when he inserted his penis into her pre-teen vagina...she was 14! or 18! or 20!"

P.S. Muslims who admit Aisha was 9 when Mohammad copulated with her usually say "it was OK because Arab girls entered puberty much earlier than they do today", as if a child having her first period means that God wants her to have sex with men old enough to be their grandfather or even great-grandfather.

Am I the only one who sees that Mohammad was a pedophile?

Religion: a system of faith and worship in religion
Spirtuality: 1. pertaining to the soul or spirt. 2. related to sacred things.

Are they religion terrorists? Are they possesed by the evil one? Would they like there own forum? Whats the deal? I haven't read anyone trying to prove Atheists don't exsist. Or Agnostics having no right to believe in anything. The question isn't ment to offend anyone. All answers welcome and respected.

Some folks believe that early baptisms were near death experiences not the symbolic dunking or spritzing of today. Would near death drownings awaken more people to Christ??? Is this the answer to saving our wayward world?

"Tanya", but that she was "Ann"
She didn't know her husband, and got divorced.
Is it possible that a different spirit "Ann" entered "tanya's" body. If not what are other explainations.

If you believe that prayer should be allowed in schools, do you think that each school should allow two separate dedicated rooms (one for the boys and one for the girls) and school time for Muslims to pray it a couple of times a day? Should school time and be given for atheist students to discuss their philosophies? Should there be a another separate room for Buddhists to meditate? Should tax dollars be used to purchase things like eagle feathers and sweet grass for Native Americans to practice their beliefs?
Maybe we should just save all the costs and keep religion out of schools where it doesn’t belong and if students want to, pray before they get to school.
Thoughts?

A youth group in my city had a bonfire night. They encouraged all the teens to bring all of their CDs that were not Christian and burn them in the bonfire. They were told all music that is not singing about God, Jesus, etc. can cause sin in their hearts.

Do you think its okay for Christians to listen to music that is not religious? Why or why not?

How realistic is this story.

The Pharises always came at Jesus ranting and quizzing him on scriptures and what not and after a quick "Let he who is without sin...." they run off with their tails between their legs.

This happens a number of times in the Bible.

In a society where an adultress would be instantly stoned without being given an opportunity to defend herself a man accused numerous times of blasphemy, a far worse sin mind you, sends them running home to drink warm milk.

Is this realistic?

If a teenage who was a devout Christian became brain damaged so that he was still functional, just highly emotional and childish to the extent that he no longer can practice any sort of faith (for example he plays with toys at Mass, etc.) and no longer has the attention span for complex topics such as religion, would he still go to Heaven, or because he is no longer capable of understanding Jesus's path he has to go to Hell? A similar vein would also be someone with amnesia or multiple personality syndrome. What happens to these people if they meet this unfortunate fate?

It has been said that abortion is worse than war because, in war, you can defend yourself. While it is true that a fetus can't "defend" itself from the needle of cellular death, what about being able to "defend yourself in war?"

Can you really defend yourself from a smart bomb targeted at you?

Can you defend yourself from the tank that is about to crush you?

Could those in Hiroshima and Nagasaki defend themselves from atomic bombs?

everyone gave up searching for, or believing in anything and just lived life for the moment? (kinda sounds like John Lennon - Imagine, huh?) Do you think that life would be better this was if there was just this one less thing to fight about? (by 'thing' i mean beliefs, religions, etc...)

We are the Salvation of the World. We will bring an end to religious strife. We will use fairness, rational thought and scientific technology to end the rape of our planet. We need to get organized and start issuing fatwas!

Atheist fatwas must be deduced from knowledge contained in scientific journals. They must be issued by a person (or board) having due knowledge and sincerity of heart. They must be free of individual opportunism and they must serve the needs of the contemporary world.

I am pregnant with my first baby, my husband and I have chosen not to baptize our baby. I would prefer my child to make the decision for him or herself, since it is a big decision to be baptized into a religion.

In your opinion, should babies/small children be baptized? Why or why not?
