Of course, I'm asking this to all walks of life--Christian, Buddhist, atheists, etc. alike.

I'm asking this because some people seem to think they should just "pick a side, already." I'm quoting something else I once read here at YA when I say that.

But anyway, what do you think?

And just a sidenote, there's no need for anyone to send their guards up; I'm not asking to pick on anyone. It's just human curiosity.

Happy Birthday? My sisters 44th birthday is today and I usually don't send her anything (presents/cards), but do try to make a phone call. I usually tell her to have a 'special day' or 'hope you can do something nice on your day'. I am not a Jehovah Witness and find somethings a little confusing about certain beliefs they hold compared to other Christians.
My sister says she was not baptized in the Kingdom Hall yet because she is not able to live up to their standards right now-so does that mean she is not a true Jehovah Witness if she doesn't attend their services? She holds Bible studies in her home, which I think is a good change for her and her daughter because they do that together. She believes about the same as I do about God and Jesus in most things except the 2nd coming...it becomes frustrating talking to her and I don't know what to say, so I usually don't and just keep her in my prayers.
Is saying Happy B-day really all that offensive for her when I'm happy she was born.

On the first day, God created day and night. On the fourth day, he created the sun and the moon.

How so?

I friend of mine lost her 5yr old baby girl in an accident about a week ago.
Does anybody know of any Scriptures in the bible that may help her through this?
Or any websites I could visit to learn and help her?

I Thank You, with all my heart.

Christian: Do you believe some other religions are "cults"? I know Christians who believe Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, and Catholics can be called “cults.” Do you? Why or why not?

Non-Christians: What religions, if any, do you think are “cults” and why?

They believe we are beneath them anyway, so I dont see why we should consider them "equals" in humanity, especially since their very purpose to reverse humanity itself.

Why can we not study them the way we might study a hamster. After all, this is a life and death struggle, we must find a cure for Islam quick.

imagine an average intelligent guy sits on his porch one morning and has an epiphany. with enough time history is made, legends are born, myths are believed and beliefs grow into soild fact. if i had to tell a storie about the creation of the world, the reasons for doing that and how it will end. wat if people believed me and two thousand years passed. i would have created a belief, the people who followed me the history, the acts done in my name the legends and myths supplied by the non believers. would it be at all possible that this might have happened already. you believe wat your parents and
society raised you with. all religions and people are the same. they just heard different versions of someones story. but being as selfish and power hungry as we are, it was changed to suite our individual desires. but was it really nesassary to place all our hopes on a great business concept. i geuss wat im really asking is, who does not believe that religion was such a great idea?

Many non-Catholics wonder about what is considered idolatry among Catholics, please tell me your opinion on the question below.

Is it considered idolatry to do the following:

Pray to Virgin Mary in addition to Jesus or to pray to saints? What about praying to a rosary or even praying to a statue of a saint, Virgin Mary, etc.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you considered it idolatry? If so why, if not then why?
