A family friend was the priest at a local church for years. He had been a priest for 20 years when he met a woman at his church that he felt a romantic connection with. They never kissed, had sex, etc. while he was a priest.

He left the priesthood because he loved the woman and eventually married her. He was excommunicated and the woman was shamed from the church and they left town to avoid the hostility.

Why would there be so much hate for this man? He swore an oath to God, but he also didn't want lust in his heart. I think what he did was honorable considering he didn't want to live a lie.

What do you think about this?

Should a priest who leaves the priesthood to marry be excommunicated and treated badly?

If yes! Did your close loved ones became more religious and believed in God more?

I don't know if it's an awful question but I would be grateful to hear your story.

I would think to you who believe abortion is bad that an abortion is an abortion. Because your argument is that you are taking a life of an innocent. Well either way it is innocent weather it's by rape, incest, or consentual sex. I just don't understand the logic of you people. For the love of god read what i just said and think about it. It makes absolutly no sense at all. And now for the statement that is sure to get me tons of thumb's down. When do you define life? Do you wash your hands? You are killing bacteria. OH, but that is ok because the bacteria doesn't have a soul right?? So tell me where it says in your holy book that every living thing doesn't have a soul. Please email me or msg me, I'm dying to see this. Either way you are focing your beliefs on someone else if you are saying that it has a soul which is why it is bad. Some religions say it's bad for a woman to show any inch of her body besides her eyes. How would you like it if that became the law?

John Lennon

Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said: "Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, Today we are more famous than Him" (1966). Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

Christine Hewitt: a Jamaican Journalist and entertainer, said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written, in June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.

Marilyn Monroe

She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said: "I don't need your Jesus". A week later, she was found dead in her apartment.

Coincidence?

....Fence sitters, cowards, "psychologically scarred"?

In an earlier question some answerers (mostly atheists, I think) characterised agnosticism in the above terms. Can you expand?

Is there a moral or intellectual imperative that impels you toward either a theist or atheist position?

I would place my money on the Atheists! I bet they could eradicate the Agnostics before they even decided their first move! What do you think?

Leviticus 12:1-5 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘If a woman has conceived, and borne a male child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of her customary impurity she shall be unclean. 3 And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. 4 She shall then continue in the blood of her purification thirty-three days. She shall not touch any hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary until the days of her purification are fulfilled.
5 ‘But if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her customary impurity, and she shall continue in the blood of her purification sixty-six days. (doubly unclean)

In times of distress, do you ever find yourself tempted to pray to the God that you suspect or know does not exist "just in case" or are you so sure of what you believe that you never even give it a thought?

What do you do for peace during those moments?

God says come bodly before the throne and that whatever we ask we receive because we keep His commandmants and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. So therefore, if we are walking in the word of God, being faithful to the Lord thru supplication and praise we can have what we ask for, not just prosperity but deliverance, breakthroughs and so on.

We all know that we 'see' things as a result of light reflected from them. The eye perceive the reflected light from the object. But the reflected light does not emanate from the object. It emanates from somewhere else and a part of it is reflected by the object. This reflected part is what we observe with our eyes.

So the reflected light is what we see.
But the reflected light is not the object.
Therefore, what we see is not the object.
So, what is the object?

Or Christianty, you know, all the "enemies of Islam"?

Normally, I would be less inclined to care about any religious people, be they jews or hindus or whatever, but considering Islamic war everywhere on the planet, I must say, I have found an unnatural love for these people.

Maybe its because Muslims keep telling me to hate them...as if joining them in their hatred might spare me the onslaught of Jihad that those culture are now, and have always, experienced.
