If yes! Did your close loved ones became more religious and believed in God more?

I don't know if it's an awful question but I would be grateful to hear your story.

Something like it, yes, during surgery, and doctors had to revive me quickly as I'd stopped breathing. I seemed to float out of my body and could see everything and I was about two metres to the right, then everything went dark and I saw a darker doorway and someone nudging me, saying 'go, on, it's your turn' and I said but I'm only 49 and I've so much left to do!' I began to go near the doorway and then the feelings of anxiety left me and I felt incredibly calm, a feeling I'd never felt before or since. Suddenly I was revived and I could hear the docors talking again and the 'other' voice gently say 'ok, not yet, you can go' ! When I cam round I felt a terrible heavy sense of depression - the world around me seemed so dull and boring compared to what I'd felt. Doctors said it was my brain playing tricks on me because of lack of oxygen, I don't know. I was a believer (Christain) before and continue to be...this experience only made me think more about life and death. I've had other experiences which have boosted faith more than this.

I know someone who had an NDE. During surgery he started dying and was clinically dead, no heartbeat, no brain function, no movement whatsoever, dead..for a little over two minutes I believe. Doctors brought him back with shocks. After the numbing effect had worn off of him and he was recovering from surgery, he had a look on his face I'll never forget as long as I live, pure terror. He cried, and explained to me how a few seconds after he stopped breathing, and had gone into cardiac arrest, he saw his body from the doctors point of view. Then a terrible sense of fear overwhelmed him, and everything became dark for him. He said he could feel something very deadly, evil, just over his shoulder, coming closer but he couldn't turn around to see what. He felt utterly hopeless, but that’s when doctors brought him back and he said he felt himself coming to his body. I know it sounds unbelievable, but from this my friend changed his life. He was a fallen away Catholic, he’d been an atheist for 14 years, but when you’ve been dead and you come back with something like that, it can really change you. He’s now a very active and believing Catholic Christian. He thanks God for each day he has.

There is a book called "90 minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper. You should try to get that and read his story. I think it will answer ALOT of questions you might have.

I think the most some people here can hope for is an NLE - a Near Life Experience. Sheesh!

2007-01-16 10:18:39 · answer #5 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

One of the most common characteristics of the so-called near-death experience is encountering a being of light. This being is said to emanate love and warmth.
It has been claimed by numerous (not all) individuals who have had alleged near-death experiences that the being of light they encountered was none other than Jesus Christ. As appealing as the idea may initially sound, this identification seems to be flawed in view of the fact that the so-called being of light typically says and does things contrary to the Christ of the Bible. Since Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), it would be impossible that these are one and the same Jesus. I believe that many of the individuals who go through near-death experiences actually encounter a counterfeit Christ.

The "Jesus" (being of light) typically encountered in near-death experiences teaches such things as:

Death is good and is not to be feared.
Sin is not a problem. In fact, this "Jesus" often responds to human sin and shortcomings with humor.
There is no hell to worry about.
All people are welcome to heaven, regardless of whether one has placed faith in Christ.
All religions are equally valid.
In view of the fact that these ideas clearly go against what the biblical Jesus taught, I think we have good reason to conclude that this "Jesus" is in fact a lying spirit.

"You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
-John 8:44 (NKJV)

We must remember that Satan has the ability to appear as an "angel of light" and as a "servant of righteousness."

And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
-2 Corinthians 11:14-15 (NKJV)

His goal, of course, is to lead people astray. He is happy to mimic a being of light if the end result is that he can lead people away from the true Christ of Scripture.
Consistent with the above is the fact that many who have had near-death experiences come out of the experience with a lower view of Scripture. One person concluded that "the Lord isn't interested in theology," and another said that God "didn't care about church doctrine at all." The true Christ of Scripture, however, is most certainly interested in correct doctrine.

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
-John 8:31-32 (NKJV)

Now, other individuals -- particularly individuals affiliated with non-Christian religions -- claim that the being of light was Buddha, or Krishna, or some other leader of a particular world religion. Certainly this should raise "red flags" in the minds of Christians. Satan, the great counterfeiter, is seeking to keep people of ALL religions away from the true Christ of the Bible.

I have met three born again christians in my life. Each of them had inadequate personalities that took their religion and used it to deny there problems. One of them became a born again christian in order to persue a relationship with another BAC.
This so called christian insisted that he must start a new life with her in order to properly worship Jesus. This meant he had to break off all contact with his 13 year old daughter...something he agreed to.

A few months later...3 days after her 14th birthday...this girl commited suicide. She threw herself off a motorway bridge at 7.00 am one cold morning. Alone and hopeless...unloved and desperate.

I hate born again christians...I hate their selfishness...I hate their stupidity.

No...I haven't seen the light and I never want to.

Muslims are accused of many things nowadays...but I know evil...and evil in the name of christianity is alive and well.

When you lose oxygen to the brain and/or faint it is the brains way of making sense of what is going on. OR when you dream your brain releases a chemical called DMT. At the time of death this chemical is also released in order to soothe(or so it is believed) the person dying.

I did. I came to the Lord when I was 18, but I turned away from Him, because -- truthfully, the things of the flesh were more exciting than the Lord.

For 32 years, I tried to live my life my way. It didn't work. Two years ago, I found myself alone and scared and I turned back to Jesus, repented, was baptised again, and have made Him Lord of my life. I've done a complete turnaround.

My family? Well, I didn't raise my daughters as Christians. They are non believers, and won't listen. But, they are in my prayers. I believe in the power of prayer.

I don't think it's an awful question. I love to hear other's testimonies.
