They were not. many theories of how the universe was created. Big bang is one of the most popular. They have no way of telling exactly how old the earth is, a lot of educated queses. There is a very good & believable theory that a planet is missing between Jupiter & Saturn. There is a huge asteroid belt there & that's why there is such a long distance between those 2 planets. I was all created at the same time, so they have always orbited the sun & the sun only. Check out www.historchannel.com for more information on this topic. Or if U like send me your email address & i'll send you the sites. Hope this helped u.

God created the earth and even plants before he created the sun (on day 4), so it must have been not orbiting the sun. There was still day and night, but not due to sunlight, because God made light before he made the sun.

Everything orbits around the earth. The Bible says "and the sun stood still" one day when there was a war, the captain asked God to keep it daylight and the sun stood still. Why would the sun have to stand still if the earth was orbiting around the sun?

I expect they weren't orbiting around anything, but part of that big collection of matter that preceeded the big bang - God gave the word and BANG. (I'm a bit of a scientific creationists, thinking that God used laws of nature as His tools).

Anyway, I think the simplistic creation story still implies that the sun came first with that whole "let there be light" statement.

thanks.

There were no planets.
It was NOTHINGNESS.
God reated the universe out of nothing.

It was a big abyss of nothing.

But how could molecules form together to create a universe that created the planets and sun...

if there was nothing if there was nothing for the molecules to exist IN
conclution:
LIFE IS A MIRICLE

The sun.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
There are 3 heaven and earth ages, same heaven and earth but different ages.
(II Pet.3:5-7) For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: (6) Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: (7) But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
THE WORLD THAT THEN WAS
(Gen.1:1) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
To that earth age the world that then was, belongs all fossils and remains. Scientific estimates or guesses; universe or heavens 20 billion years old, earth 4.6 billion years old, moon 200 to 300 million years younger than earth, dinosaur extinction 65 million years ago, Ice Age 2.5 million years ago.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
BEING OVERFLOWED WITH WATER PERISHED
(Gen.1:2) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
The first word “was” (hayah) in Hebrew, was not distinguished by the Revisers, that is the verb “to be” from “to become”. The same Hebrew word “hayah” is translated “became” in Gen.2:7.
WITHOUT FORM H8414 tohu (to'-hoo) From an unused root meaning to lie waste; a desolation (of surface), that is, desert; figuratively a worthless thing; adverbially in vain: - confusion, empty place, without form, nothing, (thing of) nought, vain, vanity, waste, wilderness.
VOID H922 bohu (bo'-hoo) From an unused root (meaning to be empty); a vacuity, that is, (superficially) an undistinguishable ruin: - emptiness, void.
(GEN.1:2) AND THE EARTH BECAME DESOLATE AND EMPTY
Earth was not created that way but became desolate and empty due to Satan’s rebellion. A global overflowing of water, but not Noah’s deluge. Darkness was upon the (face) of the deep, in other words the whole earth.
Into this we can read; dinosaur extinction, destruction of Atlantis, breakup of Gondwana Land, and the Ice Age.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
BUT THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH WHICH ARE NOW
(Gen.1:2) And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
(Gen.1:3) And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
About 63 A.D. Peter writes, the heavens and the earth which are now. The heaven and earth age we are in now, today.
BY THE SAME WORD ARE KEPT IN STORE
RESERVED UNTO FIRE
AGAINST THE DAY OF JUDGMENT
AND PERDITION OF UNGODLY MEN
PERDITION G684 apoleia (ap-o'-li-a) From a presumed derivative of G622; ruin or loss (physical, spiritual or eternal): - damnable (-nation), destruction, die, perdition, X perish, pernicious ways, waste.
Some will perish eternally and not see the third heaven and earth age.

SHO-NUFF please stop
Who said planets were before sun. Did you know that God stop time in the book of Joshua in the bible and NASA has proved it. Now these are scientists, but they saw where 24 hours on the Earth couldn't be accounted for. Until one remembered the twho stories where God literraly stopped time. This God that you ridicule si soooooo awesome.

He probably created them all around the same time. Swirling the entire galaxy (with the sun in the middle) with the tip of his index finger.

Have you considered he made them at the same time... or made the sun first...

Besides Earth, he made that first...

Maybe around him. Lol.

Maybe they weren't even orbiting yet. He created "day and night" AFTER creating the Earth. ;)
