What I mean is, with all of the conflict that religon is creating, different cultures against each other (remember the 9/11), would the world be better without any religon at all? Whats your opinion?

No it is not. People go to Church to learn about God and for fellowship. I personally feel closer to God when I am at Church and with other Catholics.

God Bless You

Religion may appear bad, yes, as it has caused many conflicts between people over the years. But, truly, it's because their religion is so important to them that they feel the need to defend it. With no religion at all, no one would have any direction in this world, nothing to believe in. As a Christian, I believe that God did send his son Jesus Christ to the earth to save us from sin and hell. Hell is real, people! Jesus clearly said that the only way to heaven is through him. God gave us free will--to love him or not to. The way we treat others reflects our love for God. Love wouldn't be real if he had forced us to love him. Everyone makes their own choice of what to believe, and there will always be differences, but you can't tell someone what to believe, you can just tell them what's the truth and why you believe in it. Somebody cares for you so much that He created you on earth and cares for you all the time, whether you realize it or not. All things no matter how good OR BAD have a purpose. Trust in this. If you don't wanna hear anything else i'm saying, please just believe that. How could everything you are, everything you have, come entirely from man or from some explosion in the universe? There is someone much greater who loves you more than you will ever know....until u get to heaven.

Religion is as old as the hills, and may be older than humanity. (The Neanderthals may have had some religion.)
Read a book like "Primitive Mythology" by Joseph Campbell before making a judgment. Another excellent book is "Patterns in Comparative Religion" by Mircea Eliade.
Religious people don't need to believe in God in order to be religious. Buddhists often don't.
Having said that, I think the Abrahamic tradition (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) has been an absolute disaster. Find other ways to be religous.

I truly belive that the world would be better without religion.
Religion divides people over the one thing that they believe in most.
Anything that a person puts their ENTIRE belief system into is dangerous. I mean look at all the raider fans. People should believe in themselves and their brothers and sisters on this planet. then maybe the world can change.

Religion is very bad thing, it degenerates mankind and makes people fools. For the good of humanity we should be educating people to move away from these silly superstitions and magical beliefs. How is it the Christianity, Judaism and Islam preach peace and love but they are the first ones to pull the trigger?

Good question, but if there wasn't religon im sure people would find something else to fight about. There will never be world peace, theres to much conflict. Also, I think religon is good because it gives you something to look foward too in life.

Religion is not a bad thing in itself. Extremist behavior in the name of any God or religion is a bad thing. Christians and Muslims seem to have the lock on that but there have been others.

Religion (living ones conviction according to the leader of that Religion) may be helpful to those who lives can be transformed in being a better person. I believe that a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ is more important to me because its a lot more than observing certain molds of worship (which varies in the many denominations of Christianity). Jesus lives and is real to me and I know Him in His saving grace and love. My life has more meaning and I am very happy in that relationship.

Religion is the opium of the people(karl max).It divides communities and nations.greatest wars were fought on the basis of religion. And the next war also is going to be between religions!!!
Religion is useful to some extent because it teaches morality. But because of religion there is so much of superstition, stupid customs & rituals.
Religion is good to some because people can make lot of money eg: priests, temples, shrines & pilgrim centers!!!

Religion, itself ISN'T the problem. The problem is all the radicals in every faith who use their religion as justification to further their own personal agendas. No religion I've ever heard of preaches the bullshit we're seeing these days. All the religious I've learned about preach love and tolerance. The lunatics have put their own spin on it and twisted the words totally beyond realistic recognition.

YES..... and NO

If you accept the notion of guns don't kill people, people kill people....
...then you might consider that there is nothing inherently bad with religion, but it is a great refuge for those who want to justify the worst excesses of the human race.

Never heard of anyone killing someone else in the name of atheism, though.
