If you believe that prayer should be allowed in schools, do you think that each school should allow two separate dedicated rooms (one for the boys and one for the girls) and school time for Muslims to pray it a couple of times a day? Should school time and be given for atheist students to discuss their philosophies? Should there be a another separate room for Buddhists to meditate? Should tax dollars be used to purchase things like eagle feathers and sweet grass for Native Americans to practice their beliefs?
Maybe we should just save all the costs and keep religion out of schools where it doesn’t belong and if students want to, pray before they get to school.
Thoughts?

It is not necessary for school-led prayer in schools.

Students should be able to pray as they wish, as long as they do not disrupt others.

But schools don't have an obligation (and certainly shouldn't be paying for) to provide facilities for religious practices.

I'm a Christian and a clergyman. And I say that the public schools are not a place for any prayer of any kind, unless they are specifically religious schools. Then they can be ALL prayer if they want to be. This is why I support school choice vouchers.

I am an evangelical Christian who believes that organized prayer should be kept out of schools because it is a violation of the doctrine of the separation of Church and State.

Well, if it does one of those things, it has to do all of them. I have nothing against prayer in schools, or tarot cards, or Native American traditions either.

I just don't want the government to sanction a particular belief system.

THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED ON FREEDOM OF RELIGION, BUT WHAT ALL YOU UNBELIEVERS DON'T KNOW IS . . . .

when the people came over here from England under the pretense of "FREEDOM OF RELIGION", none of these other religions existed. Freedom of Religion was freedom for the King of England man-made laws on religion.

Therefore Christian prayer should be in ALL schools, and Christian prayer ONLY!

If we still allowed christian prayer in schools, I bet we wouldn't have all these school shootings, drugs, and sex ruining our school system.

Yep. That is exactly why the airport took the Xmas trees down. a rabbi asked that a menorah be included and they would see it all coming and just didn't have the resources to deal with it.

Or even pray at their desk, at lunch, and even in the halls. As long as they keep it to themselves.

Clearly you couldn't be suggesting that anything but Christianity be taught in American schools? (GASP)
