If a teenage who was a devout Christian became brain damaged so that he was still functional, just highly emotional and childish to the extent that he no longer can practice any sort of faith (for example he plays with toys at Mass, etc.) and no longer has the attention span for complex topics such as religion, would he still go to Heaven, or because he is no longer capable of understanding Jesus's path he has to go to Hell? A similar vein would also be someone with amnesia or multiple personality syndrome. What happens to these people if they meet this unfortunate fate?

In the case that you are asking most certainly A faithful obedient Christian, would still be saved by the mere fact that he was faithful until (death) in the sense that he/she is no longer capable of choosing their path. They were faithful as long as they could possibly be, God does not hold accountable those who are not capable of knowing him.

If however someone has never been saved by Hearing, believing, repenting, confessing, being immersed in baptism, and continued to follow the New Testament gospel and worshipping God as he commands, in this scenerio having waited too long to accept God's gift, then that person would not be saved even if they are brain-damaged or whatever...If they were of an accountable age, andof sound mind and simply ,(as a lot of people think, Oh , I'll do it tomorrow) What if Tomorrow never comes!

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou, arise and be baptized and wash away thy sins calling on the name of the Lord.

As "giggety" said, I am sure the signs of waning or waxing would appear before the actual decision. Would I leave my wife if she eschewed her faith? While I would consider it an incorrect decision, no I would not. I wouldn't view her as suddenly "more evil", if that's what you're asking. My main concern would be her adopting an attitude that I see out here every day ... that I am now an illogical, irrational person, in need of a "skydaddy" for a crutch. The ability for the marriage to continue would rest a great deal on how she now viewed me through a different lens. No, my job would be to stay in this marriage, continuing to show her the love and grace I have been shown. Perhaps she'd come back around. Perhaps not. That doesn't change my love for her.

Wow! I am a little amazed someone would even ask this question. But I won't so much answer it as I will ask you a question. As a believer yourself, do you really believe a loving, caring and all-seeing God would punish someone for having brain damage? How exactly do you view God if this is even a question for you? God loves all of His children and knows them better than they know themselves. If you friend was truly devout in his faith, God will see this under whatever unfortunate exterior his brain damage may reflect.

God is a God of love, of course he will go to heaven. God does not have the same thoughts and mentality as us humans. That is why we are never sure why God allows such things to happen to innocent people when we start doubting. People can be healed if they chose to believe that Jesus can heal. I will pray for the boy and hope you will have the peace in your heart that he will go to heaven whether he is healed or not. God bless.

I believe that once a person exercises saving faith in Jesus Christ, he or she is forever in the family of God. God never kicks anyone our of his forever family. A number of Scripture passages support this view. For example, in 1 Corinthians 12:13 we are told that at the moment of salvation the Holy Spirit places us in the body of Christ. Once we are infused into the body of Christ, we are never excised from the body. In fact, Ephesians 1:12 and 4:30 indicate that at the moment of believing in Jesus Christ for salvation, we are permanently "sealed" by the Holy Spirit. At that point, we are God's everlasting property. That seal guarantees that we'll make it to heaven.
Moreover, we read in John 10:28-30 that it is the Father's purpose to keep us secure despite anything that might happen once we have trusted in Christ. Nothing can snatch us out of His hands. God's plans cannot be thwarted (Isaiah 14:24). Further, Romans 8:29-30 portrays an unbroken chain that spans from the predestination of believers to their glorification in heaven.
Another fact we need to keep in mind is that Christ regularly prays for each Christian (Hewbews 7:25). With Jesus interceding for us, we are Secure. (His prayers are always answered!)

Although I don't believe that heaven is necessarily an alternative when we die I can tell you this, God would never punish a person or with hold something good from a person who is sick or injured. He loves that person and it is his desire that the person is healed and returned to life on a perfected earth.

NO - God would not send that person to hell. Actually, God doesn't send anyone to hell . . . .it's a choice each of us make.

Jesus has a special place in His heart for children, and these people are very much child-like.

God takes these things into account, so in the case you stated, I believe that they would go to Heaven.
