Muslims who admit Aisha was 9 when Mohammad copulated with her usually say "it was OK because Arab girls entered puberty much earlier than they do today", as if a child having her first period means that God wants her to have sex with men old enough to be their grandfather or even great-grandfather.

i dont say that Aisha was older that 9 or 10 when Muhammad (Pbuh) married her. and i dont say that women entered puberty earlier than today back then because i do not know that for certain. but she had reached puberty and that is the important part. sure...it doesn't seem right that a girl so young should marry someone in his 50s but that was nothing surprising at that time. 12 was and still is in many places a common age for marriage. why? because when girls reach puberty they enter womenhood (according to some cultures). i'm not here to discuss whether that is right for the girl i'm just saying that its not something that was out of the norm at that time period. if his other wives were young girls, maybe your claim that he was a pedophile would be stronger. but Aisha (pbuh) was the only virgin he had married. he married his first wife Kadija (pbuh) who was 15 years older than him. and he didn't marry again during her lifetime. just think about what i just said with an open mind. try to get out of the mindset of someone living in 21st century America and think about it through the perspective of someone living in that time and place!! i'm not just saying this because i'm a muslim!!!!!!

it was 1500 years ago when the girls were getting marriage after their first period but still he did not take her to his home because he has to be a good example to everyone. he would do that most probably most of the muslims would do the same.

1) This girl you are talking about is the mother of all Muslims and the only virgin wife of prophet MOHAMMAD PB UH.
2) She was engaged to somebody else other than the prophet PB UH prior to the progression of Islam, and the non-Muslim guy who was engaged to her didn't want to marry her because she embraced Islam.
3) It was well known and acceptable to the people at that time of such marriage.
4) No body of the NON -Muslim population has condemned this action or otherwise it will be a Major defect in the prophet's history and they would attack him in poems which was the CNN / Aljazeera media at that time!!!!
5) I have been told by a friend that such an action was to a recent time present in India and Europe
