Religion & Spirituality - 15 January 2007

I believe in a higher power or a creator. I believe in a force that creates life and makes the universe. I believe that life and the universe is too complex to be created by cosmic chance. I believe that our human brains cannot grasp or ever will grasp the workings of such a force. I just don't believe in what man has written or said about religion. All the data has been manipulated and corrupted by people to suit their own agendas. I see the leading religious organisations as businesses that have stood the test of time by lies and manipulation. They have crushed all the opposition and are now the 'Microsoft' or 'Pepsi' of the religious world.

Either that or I am a big chicken and scared to become an outright atheist.

Black ppl dont give a crap about MLK day or black history month (ok that sound pretty mean) but here's my theory a lot of low income blacks are less concern about "black proud" and more concern about making it day -to- day without the lights being "cut off". The ppl that are more into "being black" and celebrating are the ones who appear to have the American Dream the upper middle-class educated blacks.Of course low income blacks are proud of their ppl but then reality sets in "You a 40yr old man making $9.75 an hr. at the local piggy wiggly"My point is at the end of the King's holiday or at the end of black history month when we all move on, low-income blacks are still poor they get that and this is their reality.( I grew up poor this is hands-on observation)

Why are so many american jew want to be more jewish than any jew by supporting this horrible nation. Whn most israeli want peace, most american want war. If they so jew then why dont they live in israel?

I am not a deeply religious person, though I have my beliefs in God--I am comfortable with what I believe. My friend however will (about once a year) go though a huge 'spiritual revolution' and get really uber hyped up on God and His power, etc and how he's changed her life. I'm supportive of her beliefs, however she then starts really going in on me and really harping on how great how wonderful--it's like she's attempting to convert me to her brand of religion and when I say no thank you...she gets upset like she's giving me this wonderful gift and how dare I not take it? Like she's forcing her beliefs on me, and if I don't really go "wow, how wonderful, thanks for showing me the light"--I'm wandering aimlessly in the dark. HELP!

Ok, last night, I brought over my ouija board to my friend Alex's house.
So we were playing around in her room, candles lit and all. We asked if anyone was present. I've used my board countless times, but it never responded as fast as it last night. It practically jumped to yes. We asked the name of who was trying to contact us. It said Peter. We decided to take a break and went and got Alex's mom who has a very strong faith. She decided to sit with us for the next session about 10 minutes later. We did more prayers than usual, protecting us from the evil that we may encounter. When we got back with the spirit, we asked the last year he remembered. It was 1978. He was born in 1969 and was 8 years old. We asked if how he died. He said Brothers car. I immediatly felt this wave of emotion come over me and started crying. I couldn't control myself. Once I was ready again, I continued with everybody. We asked if he saw a light when he died. He said yes. We asked if he still saw the light.

I've read the scriptures that people use to try and prove and it doesn't jive. Actually, it is stretching it a bit.

Not only that, it doesn't jive with the rest of the teachings in the new testament.

When we die, we die and wait for the resurrection. If we live, then well we don't die the first death. Jesus comes back to earth, not, Jesus and raptured people.

1st question: If a person's birthday falls on Ash Wednesday, is that a good thing???? Most of us know whats right even if we aren' of any relgion just by looking at the consequences, if what u do, out puts a good consequence, then its good and vice versa. I mean we know it and we just go against it, its like we know when we touch fire it will burn us, yet we still touch it no matter how much we know it burns our hand. We tend to get around things and make up excuses insted of just facing the truth. I just wish we where all a lil bit more humble and give good things a try with out thinking about it. I just dont know i wish we all would communicate better, we need to try to give advice without having to be asked for it, if we know it will help them, we should let them know, its just we need to remmber that we aren't perfect but if we try our best to be, we will get better by doing so...

When I asked this question I didn't know what to expect but i guess not that. I believe it is impossible to have no religion. Everyone believes in something even if it is theirselves. How can people who claim they have no religion live everyday? What do you think happens when you die? Do you think that is it? It just ends. Over. Zip. Done. Who would want to look forward to that? People who say they are free thinkers yet respect other religions seem to be the first to bash Christians saying we are stupid for believing in some higher power. These people don't understand the concept of FAITH. FAITH CANNOT BE DEFINED OR EXPLAINED. IT JUST IS. ONCE YOU HAVE IT YOU KNOW. YOU'LL FEEL IT. Faith gives us HOPE that after we die that there is something MORE something GREATER. Who can say that they don't want HOPE? and just so you know NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE NOT EVEN THE SMARTEST MAN ALIVE CAN TRUELY SAY THERE IS NO G-D!!!
