Is there a reason why some people have an excess of wealth and prosperity while children die of starvation in Africa? Add your own atrocities here as you see fit, you know what I'm saying.

Bates Water Gardens....do the starving kids in Africa really have a choice in the matter? I highly doubt that they *chose* to be born into such awful circumstances. Either God plays favorites, or there is no God.

Starving children in Africa have nothing to do with God. They have to do with the arrogance of European Christians who invaded and conquered Africa, then decided to introduce farming and herding to the African continent because it worked so well in Europe. None of them ever stopped to think that perhaps farming and herding did not exist on the African continent because Africa is not conducive to either. The vegetation and soil cannot support a herding or farming way of life.
In addition, when the Europeans invaded and took over (as they presumed was their God-given right), they came up with boundaries for the countries that completely ignored tribal boundaries, throwing together different tribes and then expecting them to all just get along.
Add onto that the forced conversion to Christianity of so many - and the Catholic church's stance on the use of condoms - and the rapid rise of AIDS surely isn't helping matters.
That is why children are starving in Africa - because the arrogant Christian European forced THEIR way on a continent that is not built to sustain it. As a result, the desert expands more every year due to the over eating of vegetation by livestock, and Africa is in danger of becoming a barren wasteland. It has nothing to do with whether God exists (and no, I don't believe the Christian God does) or not.

Did God give you enormous wealth in order to send to the starving children in Africa? Hmmm...not you. Well, I bet he did to someone. God treats every one of his children as they need to be treated. As parents, we do that, so the concept is not hard to follow. We do not know the global picture of God's plans, and to try and figure it out is painful. We just cannot do it. But, what we can do is thank him profusly everyday for what he has blessed us with....and the pain we had to endure at times. For if God never had a chance to prove his love and help, then we would never lean on him or believe in him!

Hello friend. I understand why you think the way you do, it does seem that way. Only problem is its not so. God does love you as He loves everyone. The bad stuff in this world comes from the devil not from God. God gets the blame, because He gave us free will and the ability to choose whether we follow Him or the devil. People who don't live for Him and seem to not have any problems is because the devil doesn't have to bother people living for him. God loves everyone and He loves you too. God hates the sin but loves the sinner, He sent His son Jesus to save us and if we would only let Him in our hearts and ask Him for His help, and to forgive us and follow Him....we will be saved. Does that mean everything will then be perfect here, no, but the peace and comfort that comes from the Lord is worth everything. I am praying for you, may God touch and heal your heart.

I don't know perhaps fro the same reasons we do. I am just glad I am truly one of His favorites and can npt wait to sit on his lap, something dear old Dad decided I got too big to do b4 I did. This being a man thing was a real burden to those men who like love.

Our wealth have to do with our mind set, cultural environment and beliefs. God gave us the wisdom to get wealth. For example, why are people like Trump, Gates, Kiosk so rich and successful and the masses like you and I, poor - middle class? The answer is hidden in books.

We all make choices as humans. The main choice is to be educated. Not just in "school and books" but also in what God wants for us.
I'm just glad I do not have what I deserve.

The reason is that favor just isn't fair! That makes me love God more. I live in a huge home and drives an expensive car, am I mad at God for blessing me this way? Of course not.

God is not a respecter of persons. If you think he favors one of his children over another then you do not know him very well.

These are just our lessons.
All paths are valid, as are all of the lessons these paths can teach us. They are all valid ways to learn what we are here to understand.
