I find it interesting that something which is supposed to unite people in the name of love ends up dividing people the majority of the time. Even people who believe in God can't agree on how they should believe. Take for instance the vast number of sections of Christianity; Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Lutherans, Baptists, etc., all who pretty much believe in God and Jesus, but all worship differently. Then there are the Mormons, who also believe in Jesus, but believe that he came to North America after he was resurrected, though evidence shows that the "savages" that inhabited North and South America didn't know anything about Christianity before the Spaniards came. Rastafari believe the Jesus already came back in the form of Haile Salassie I in Ethiopia. And don't forget the Jehovah's Witnesses, who seem to believe in disturbing people at dinner time to try to sell them God. Then there're the Muslims, who believe in God (or Allah, but still "the one God", which is a great Arabic word for the idea of what He's supposed to be… check the Second Commandment), but revere the profit Mohammad rather then the profit Jesus. And ALL of these faith systems were spun off of Judaism, the oldest faith still around today and one of the originators of the idea of monotheism, so shouldn't Judaism be the most revered of faiths since it seems to be one of the original drafts of the current monotheistic religions? That's assuming you ignore its obvious similarities to the Epic of Gilgamesh. Is it really that big of a deal that Jewish people don't think that Jesus was the messiah? And what if the Jews got it right and Jesus wasn't the messiah? Have Christians been worshiping a false idol for the last 2007 years?

My point is that people seem to keep adding to the story as they go along, tailoring it to their own personal needs or the beliefs and practices of the modern day. And take a look at all the violence that's spawned from religious belief, not only in the past (like The Crusades), but in current times (Sunnis vs. Shiites). And for what? Because your version of God is better than my version of God? Aren't you all reading the same book?

This is a great example. Everyone got so worked up over the control freak part of the inquiry and had to make their voice heard, sometimes at great length (though I guess I'm not one to talk, and there were some pretty good explanations about the dinosaurs). In a simpler time, sans internet, television, and iPods, a fight would have broken out and someone probably would have been killed.

And who's to say we shouldn't be worshiping the trees or the sun, or trying to achieve Nirvana through the Tao, or the harmony between the earth and the sky, or sacrificing virgins to the Gods for a good harvest, or a flying spaghetti monster, or whatever it is that Scientologists believe in, or maybe just trying to be good, honest, moral people that believe when they die, they're dead and that's it?

I'm not telling you what to believe. And I'm certainly not trying to say that religion is a bad thing. It's obviously done some great things too, like helped feed and clothe the poor, and given strength and comfort to those that perhaps lost a loved one or were overwhelmed by addiction... faith is a very powerful thing and when used properly in a non-exploitive fashion can be very good.

But what I would like is be able to drive down the street without seeing a Jesus fish eating a Darwin fish on the car in front of me, or a bumper sticker that reads "In case of rapture, vehicle will be abandoned."

See you in Hell, Kmac!! I'll bring the toaster if you bring the Pop-Tarts!

Sorry but they lived with the dinosaurs. Don't believe everything you hear. The Bible talks quite a bit of dinosaurs at the time of mankind.
Also, God created man in his own image, but after they sinned you can see that when Adam and Eve had children it says, their children were in their image. Their image changed after they sinned.
2) They weren't simple back then, they were just the first ones to start civilization, so there was nothing.
3) God is much more than smart because He is GOD
4) If he was a control freak He wouldn't have just given you the free choice to blab your comments all over the whole web;.

What gives you the idea that they were stupid? Was it because they couldn't build a toaster? Do you think you can?

Actually, they were very smart, much more than we are today, as was evident from the building of such structures as the Pyramids.

It took time and experimentation to gain knowledge. Such things usually takes generations, but generations back than passed at the rate of hundreds of years and not a few decade like now.

As for creating us in his image, he didn't. He created Adam and Even, everything since than is genetics, affected by the quality of life we have created, including pollution and food production.

I'm sure that if you had a little smarter, you would have realized all this, but humans have de-evolved since creation.

Man were made for God, and the reason why we are so smart in education now than before is because we are control freaks and we only want what we want so that is why the world is so evolved. We wanted to entertain ourself so much taht we made things and got educated to make entertainment for everybody today. Its a good thing he limites our knowledge because if we knew too much then the world would be over. God is not to blame. We are to blame.

Your missing the point. God created the situation that allowed Man to evolve.

Once God set up the process He stepped back to see how it would play out. This is anything but a control freak.

You try to make everything so complicated. God's time of 7 days, could have been different from our time. So 1 year could have been one thousand. And some say dinosaurs didn't exist. As for me, I don't know. But don't call my lord a control freak.

You ask a silly question, and I will explain why: you cannot answer logically ANY Biblical statement like that. You want to know what it means that God made us "in His own image, after His own likeness." It means we evolve, we learn, we create, we destroy, we find God on our own terms or decide there is no God. It doesn't mean we "look like" God- no man has ever seen God, the Bible tells us- it means we are a sort of small part of God.

Well, we're an infant and God's been around a whole lot longer. We're also finite and God is eternal. Imagine how smart some people would be if they lived over the last 6000 years.

Ok, I have said this a thousand thime before, I guess I will have to say it again and again.
God created Man in His Spiritual Image not physical one. is there any part of that that you did not understand ?
and as for Dinos?

It should be stressed that there is considerable evidence to show that dinosaurs and human footprints have been found together by earlier excavators. One of them was Dr. Roland T. Bird from Harvard University and the American Museum of Natural History, at that time a leading geologist and paleontologist. He reported that a ledge of limestone had been ripped up in the Paluxy River area by a spring flashflood. In one of his sketches, he revealed that tracks were taken and put on display at the American Museum of Natural History, at Southern Methodist University, at the University of Texas, at Baylor University and at Brookland College. At the top of the sketch a series of human-like tracks can be seen, including a notation by Dr. Bird himself, "Single giant track to American Museum of Natural History". Thus, we find that his drawings indicate there had been earlier findings similar to those we have made in our present excavations. This has been confirmed by taped interviews with local Glen Rose residents. Charlie Moss found the first human tracks in the Paluxy riverbed in 1910. Ernest "Bull" Adams followed this trail of tracks and documented their existence. Jim Ryals and Emmit McFall found other footprints through the years. Geologist Clifford Burdick, Ph.D., verified human tracks in the 1940's. Dr. Cecil Daugherty led large groups to the prints for years. Stan Taylor, Mike Turnage, Fred Beirle, Wilbur Fields and John Morris, Ph.D., added their own documentation.
