Like sodomy laws, and blue laws, firing people at work for not being christian, putting prayer in public schools, putting in God we trust on money, forcing children to say the pledge of allegiance with God in it, refusing to give morning after pills to a woman, making abortion illegal, looking for Pagan covens so they can burn them down.

Do any of you believe "all this language gotten, and augmented by Adam and his posterity, was again lost at the tower of Babel, when by the hand of God, every man was stricken for his rebellion, with an oblivion of his former language?"

I'm agnostic, yet I have a strong sense of morality, what is right and what is wrong. I enjoy helping people because it makes me feel good and I see that the well-being of mankind is for the best of society.

So if you depend on a crutch such as religion to be a moral person, are you really truly moral in the purest sense?

Compare it to this - if you have natural 20/20 vision, you don't need glasses. If your vision is less, or you are farsighted or nearsighted, you wear glasses to correct your vision.
But just because you wear glasses, it doesn't mean that you naturally have 20/20 vision.

So my question is, If Christians and other religious sects are only moral because of belief in God and expectation of a great reward, are they really moral?

I don't particularly like the idea of being an eternal reject but believing in religion is not exactly easy for me. My bones tell me that it is written by men but I can't prove that it is false or true.

What is going to happen to me if it is true and I am wrong for being atheist?

Note: I know about Pascal's Wager but that is not genuine faith.

I am simply curious, and I would like a list of which books of the Bible condemn homosexuality and the verses, if you will be so kind. Good Day.

Can anything in this transient world give lasting satisfaction?Of course, pursuit of materialistic pleasures, leaves one totally disillusioned.
What is it then, which is of real significance?
Is it love?
Is it selfless service?
Is it in total submission to God's Will?

People ask questions on here that may or may not define their personal opinions but as soon as you post a question ppl put you in a group and dont have a clue who you are (except typed words which you can train a monkey to do)
PS No offense to monkeys I love monkeys . You saw the mess the Geico ppl got themselves into regarding the "caveman" statement.

Like what goes around comes around? Bad or good energy boomeranging back to you?

after all if you're gonna use the bible to say what is good or bad, you then would be in favor of selling your first daughter to slavery (Exodus 21:7-11) stone your brat son to death (Leviticus 20:9) killing anyone who works on a Saturday (Exodus 35:2) and to send anyone who ever played football to hell, because "touching a pig's skin is an abomination" (Lev.11:6-8). So if you're gonna say that homosexuality is bad because the bible says so, then you must also agree with the previous statements. And don't say that this are all in the old testament, because the one on homosexuality is in the old testament too... check your bible

does that make those that do not believe in God scott free to do whatever it is they want to do without any accountability. If I don't believe in God and his commandments, then I'm Okay to do whatever....right? It is only those that believe that think they are morally justified before God through Jesus, not for those who do not believe...

Everyone messes up...no one is perfect, but as Christians we should do our best to live like Christ. So when we mess up why do others turn around and call us a hypocrite?

Why does the Catholic religion depict Christ still on the cross. I know why my denomination depicts an empty cross. It's the victory over death and the hope of salvation. No one will give me a straight answer. I always get "Because they do". If I offended, I apologize.
