I do not know where you got this bit of theology from, but it certainly was not from the Holy Bible. Yes, Jesus died for our sin, was buried in a tomb and on the third day was raised from the dead. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a nutshell. But you failed to mention that the gospel must be accepted into the person's heart and that there must be a life changing transformation in the person's behavior. This is not salvation by works, for that is unbiblical. This is true salvation by faith. You cannot read or hear the gospel, claim that you are saved, and then go back to doing what your were doing. this is cheap grace. The Gospel is not an excuse to sin,k but a reason to live a sinless life. Jesus did not die to that you could sin at will and still get into heaven---that makes his death in vain. Jesus offers us a better way to salvation. God will not let any sin or sinner into heaven, which is why we need the blood of Jesus on us. with the blood God sees as as perfect and therefore admissible into heaven.

No one is sinless. You have to acknowledge the sacrifice and accept Jesus into your heart. You can't go to heaven unless you do that. Since no one is perfect, even Christians slip-up sometimes and these sins need to be asked to be forgiven. A Christian's walk is a growing and learning process.

Don't oversimplify.

Christ died for all of our sins, true -- but only for those sins for which we are truly sorry and repentent. That's in the Bible.

There are also some verses in the Bible that tell us that we must continue in God's grace until the very end of our lives -- a one-time act of being "saved" is not sufficient.

We must continue in the Lord's grace, Paul writes in Romans, or else we too shall be pruned away. A concept worth remembering.

I've been told that, but there is no way that I can actually "know" it, since it's an article of faith, involving belief in a supernatural world that is non-verifiable. In addition, I don't quite grasp the mechanics or the spiritual economics involved.

I've never sinned so I didn't need Jesus in the first place.

See, you really can't sin if there is no god.

There is no heaven either.

That was good of him but I can atone for my own sins-I'm sure God would rather that we took responsibility for the consequences of our actions.
