Because the Bible says that faith without works is dead, works, doing the word, proves your faith, James 2:18-26. Preaching the good news of God's kingdom as Jesus commanded, obey God's commands on not being one of those listed at 1 Corinthians 6:9,10. And do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together as some have the custom. A Bible study will help you to understand what you need to do and what not to do. Check out this site www.watchtower.org or contact your local Jehovah's Witnesses, they will be happy to conduct a Bible Study with you.

Corporal works of mercy are those that tend to bodily needs. The Parable of the Sheep and the Goats (Matthew 25:31-46) enumerates such acts -- though not this precise list -- as the reason for the salvation of the saved, and the omission of them as the reason for damnation.
Feed the hungry
Give drink to the thirsty
Clothe the naked
Shelter the homeless
Visit the imprisoned
Visit the sick
Bury the dead
The spiritual acts of mercy provide for the needs of the spirit.
Admonish the sinner
Instruct the ignorant
Counsel the doubtful
Comfort the sorrowful
Bear wrongs patiently
Forgive all injuries
Pray for the living and the dead

Some good ways of becoming doers of the Word, and not hearers only is to do what's right. Minister to others in need with the agape or "unconditional love" of GOD!
We must live and walk by faith showing forth the glory of GOD,
and by being examples of Jesus teachings while he was here on earth. Love the LORD with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.
Do unto others as you would have them to do unto you.
Peace,
Hope

You can't be a 'doer' of the word if you are too busy listening to praises and hallelujas, or sermons and condemnations.
Before one can do, one must first 'hear'. "Let those who have ears, hear." One must be 'prepared' to listen, but one cannot listen if one already believes that one already 'knows' and has already 'heard'.
To listen means to prepare and be prepared, to be ready to act, to be like the bridegroom ready to light their lamp at the moment they notice the master's arrival. One cannot listen if one is not calmed by faith, or beset by doubt. If doubt swells your ears, how will you hear the true steps of the one who approaches? You will not, and you will light your lamp early, and will have no oil left for when the master does approach.
Each person is called differently, personally. While one might be called to be a doctor, another is called to write stories. What good is a doctor who writes stories instead, or a writer who forces themselves to be a doctor? How can one hear the cry of others if one cannot stop and listen to the cry of oneself? The samaritan first heard the cry of the traveller within himself first, and through hearing and accepting was prepared to meet him on the road.
"Let those who have ears, hear."

personally, I get all caught up with thoughts about my "future" and can get anxious worrying about tomorrow and all the responsibilities that I think I will have in life, and I let this cause me to freeze up and feel overwhelmed; then I don't do anything........but Jesus says:
Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Luke 12:29
And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.
Matthew 6:28
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
With these scriptures in mind....I'm just trying to take life one day at a time and enjoy each day while honoring God with my life each day.

We should live the gospel. 1 John 3, 16-17 expresses it very profoundly. "This is how we have known what love is; he gave his life for us. We, too, ought to give our life for our brothers. If anyone enjoys the riches of this world, but closes his heart when he sees his brother or sister in need, how will the love of God remain in him?"
With love in Christ

There is a scripture some wheres that says those things you have seen in me Do. I think its in Phillipians maybe. So we should witness to the lost. We should have compassion and love. We should have a forgiving heart. We should give of ourselves. There is so many things Jesus did that we should do to.

To love others is a human virtue. In the act of loving others God helps you and it becomes a Godly virtue. During the process of loving others, God helps you to love Him. Then you have a better understanding of God.
