Say you were marrying someone and they were not of the same religion you are.... they said they strictly could NOT get married in another church...

Would this bother you??

If you had kids and they wanted your kids to follow their religion.

would that bother you either.

Would you give up your beliefs because of a partner?

They are de facto atheists, but generally think they believe in God?

Meaning, when everything is normal and they are not being challenged, they subconsciously recognize that God is imaginary?
In their innermost minds they understand this, and let it go at that?

While on the surface of their minds they can instantly shift into the other mode and declare that God is real, and even condemn atheists? But not necessarily.

Meaning, you can be religious and still be rational and irrational and everything in between? People are basically people? We all have our own personalites; and religious thinking is pretty much ancillary?

I myself don't condemn religious people, and I know enough of them to know that they are basically normal and well-adjusted people, and they know how to function in the real world, and how to behave in a proper manner.

So I can take their overtly stated religious views with a grain of salt, so to speak.

Are you people with me on this?

Was Peter the first pope? The answer, according to Scripture, is a clear and emphatic no. Peter nowhere claims supremacy over the other apostles. Nowhere is his writings (1 and 2 Peter) did the Apostle Peter claim any special role, authority, or power over the church. Nowhere in Scripture does Peter, or any other apostle, state that their apostolic authority would be passed on to successors. Yes, the Apostle Peter had a leadership role among the disciples. Yes, Peter played a crucial role in the early spread of the Gospel (Acts chapters 1-10). Yes, Peter was the “rock” that Christ predicted he would be (Matthew 16:18). However, these truths about Peter in no way give support to the concept that Peter was the first pope, or that he was the “supreme leader” over the apostles, or that his authority would be passed on to the bishops of Rome. Peter himself points us all to the true Shepherd and Overseer of the church, the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:25).
So was peter the 1st pope?

Do all atheists become agnostics when they start asking questions on this forum? If atheists are so sure, and they don't want to deal with "ignorant Christians", then why post on this forum?

You all must have nothing better to do in life than piss off Christians.

I pray for My Chemical Romance (I know, sounds stupid) But they wrote a song, it's called 'Heaven Help Us'. The song, basically is a cry for help from God. I looked up the meanings to see if my perspective was right, and the meaning was basically about his (Gerard's) unsureness about God, maybe. He's going through a tough patch in his life and is questioning the existance of God. And now for doubting, he's afraid he's going to hell. BUT, the last stanza it says "And would you pray for me. (He knows God wants him on his side)And make me say your name. (Though he doesn't want to...he's being forced into it.)And will you lay for me. (Jesus dying for him.)And make a saint of me. (Considering conforming...? He's trying to decide if he should repent and become pious.)Cause I'll give you all the nails you need. ("Go ahead Jesus, be crucified." )Cover me in gasoline again. (Aww, screw it, I'm gonna burn in hell anyway.)
I wonder, does anyone else ever pray for famous people???

Look who is pitifull according the scriptures
lol
1 Corinthians 15:
12But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

I've gone to my church for 1 yr and 4 mos. I started going there cause the pastor gave me a tract and invited me. I loved the church the minute I went, its a warm, family environment and you hear the Word of God there. I used to go to a Nazarene church, but felt like God's word was not preached there.

The catholic church promotes the idea that Mary is not a sinner.
In Luke 1:47, Mary calls God her “Savior.” Only a sinner needs a savior. The Bible states that Jesus is our redeemer (Galatians 3:13; 4:4-5; Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Revelation 5:9). The “Hail, Holy Queen” calls Mary our “most gracious advocate,” but the Bible calls Jesus our Advocate to the Father (1 John 2:1) and our one Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5). The only time in Scripture that the title “Queen of Heaven” is found it is in a negative way (Jeremiah 7:17-19; 44:16-27). The whole of Scripture teaches us to pray to God alone. Never once can you find an example or admonition to pray to anyone else! The only basis for the idea of getting to God through Mary is based on the biblical story of Mary coming to Jesus to ask for his help at a wedding feast (John 2). But in light of all of the other verses, including Jesus’ own instruction on how we are to pray.
