...if you didn't have "Heaven" around as a back-up plan in case you don't make it?

Seems like people are always asking about atheists and foxholes... now I'm asking theists to hypothetically put themselves in the shoes of a non-believer. Would you fight for a noble cause if you didn't believe in God? Would you put your life on the line for your country? An animal? A stranger? Your friend? Your mother? Your child?

Buddha said that for millions of years, humans were animals. Now as humans, we still have animal left over in us. It is the path to enlightenment that is the next step in evolution when humans will evolve into Buddhas. Buddha is a title, not a name of a person.

In the old testiment we are given 40 chapters on the operation of the levitical priesthood. In hebrews we have been given 4 chapters on the priesthood of each believer. In the scripture below we are instructed that all scripture is profitable for doctrine. So it should be held that is a tradition or a thing is not in the scriptures it was not given via God as he inspired the all scripture. In operation in the catholic church is a new kind of priesthood which there is no scripture in the bible declaring its existence nor how it would work.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

My question is if a thing is not in the Word of God such as the priesthood of the catholic church. Then how is it you follow the teaching of a priesthood God did not author?

Sometimes people want something so bad they imagine it or belive it.If people claim they can speak to god how come they do not tape his voice or him?If you claim you have "spoken" to god then do the world a fav and stop terrorism because if you show that a god does realy exist and you can speak to him i think the world will stop fighting. So dont claim you can speak to him when you realy cant you are just fooling your self prove me wrong and stop the fight w/ jesus voice/light.

And why on earth would someone follow a "faith" based on hate and destruction? I just don't get it. It seems like pure evil to me.

Lets say that a soldier knows that the only way to save one of his brothers is to walk across to the other side of the mine field. Now this soldier knows that he is most likely going to die. But because he is dedicated to his service and his battalion, he chooses to die to save another life.

God says that we can do whatever we want, but then gives us a whole bunch of rules that we must follow, oh and the punishment part as a deterent to using free will. That is like giving your kid a car, but not letting them drive it, oh but you get to drive it (as God murdered on massive levels throughout the bible and covetted someone else's wife and got her pregnant - typical God stating "do as I say, not as I do"). Not a good gift that God supposedly gave to us, he gives it and then puts lots of rules on it and threats of massive pain and suffering if we do what we want.

Gal 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. ((this scripture debunks the teaching of mary being sinnless))

2Ti 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (( this scripture proves with out a dought that the Holy Scripture is to be use to defend the faith)) as God has inspired the scripture and given it to us for correction and instruction in rightious and for the actually doctrine of the church. Any activity of the church that does nto line up with the scripture as provided is not of God but of satan. The deciever of the people of God. So every practice of the faith is to be tested against the scripture of The Holy Bible. Do catholic test the church againt the Word of GOD?

Also, what kind of a God, that is supposedly all good, or even good in the least, would hold, a "supposed" mistake that two people (Adam and Eve) made (eating apple) against the rest of the world forever? Obviously God is challenged in forgiving and holds a grudge forever. The biblical God actually makes Satan look like a hero, since Satan never mass murdered as God did (see bible for reference). Satan never sent down/up a set of rules (10 commandments) and the breaks them, like God has done throughout the bible, etc.
