The time is the south (or today) of To Kill A Mockingbird: Mayella character based on a real-live-person who actually got the court to focus on an application of the realization of the father in the Book of Job, that a father is wise to give equal respect to both daughters and sons; or the possibility of organizing families going through difficult times into a mutual support system exploring an application of the Biblical "inner circle" like Peter, James, and John.

i ask this in regards to people like Helen Duncan ... the last witch to be tried in the Uk
During World War II, Duncan held a seance in Portsmouth at which she indicated knowledge that HMS Barham had been sunk. Because this fact had been kept from the public, the British Admiralty chose to attempt to discredit her. Police arrested her after another seance. She was initially arrested for vagrancy, a minor offence. Soon, however, the charge was increased, and she faced first conspiracy and then witchcraft charges. The seeming overzealousness of this prosecution may be explained by the mood of near-paranoia surrounding the impending Battle of Normandy. There were also concerns that she was exploiting the recently-bereaved. It should be noted that the government did not believe she had practised witchcraft; the 1735 statute covers fraudulent "spiritual" activity.

I was baptized in the Episcopal Church when I was a baby and attended the same church up until I was three or four. My family moved away from the town and we never started going to church again. I am now married and expecting my first child and I though I've gone to a few Protestant services over the years I want my son baptized in the Episcopal church and I'm not sure if there are any rules about this.

Silly question, I know, but I would appreciate any answers that you all have.

i asked a question about judgment the other day, and thanks to all who took the time to answer. i just want to be sure before i get on the phone with my christian friend to attempt to salvage our friendship....

is it agreed that amongst most christians that a person should be judged by their actions and their "fruits" and not their personal beliefs no matter how different those beliefs may be?

my beliefs are very different from hers and she thinks that what i believe is wrong even though they are my own personal sacred beliefs that harm no one.

The Jehovah Witness keep promoting that Jesus died on a stake yeat even peter died on a cross upside down. And the scriptures of God have declared it a cross from the beginning as the hebrew bible and the greek bible and all know early chruch writing all conclude it was a cross. How is it that your church has changed it to a stake. By what authority have they changed the word of GOD.
And is it not writen he who changes the word of God and the testimony of his word shall be cured with a curse.

Judas Iscariot was supposedly a free agent. Being free, he could choose to perform A (a certain action) or choose to refrain from performing A. In other words, Judas' betrayal of Jesus was not inevitable. If Judas' actions were not inevitable, then how could God foreknow what Judas would freely do?
