I have no religious beliefs at all, and never have done. I can remember being told off at school at the age of about 12 for not singing hymns or closing my eyes during prayers. I told the teacher that I did not believe in any god.
He did not tell me I was wrong, but that I was simply too young to make that decision. For four years I investigated every religion, but was left with the same conclusion I had started out with.
These days I find it very hard to understand why people would think there is a higher power. I simply exist for the blink of an eye on a speck in the middle of nowhere

Methodist.I was brought up in the way of my chapel by my parents to whom I shall be eternally grateful. Some children are not as fortunate.I hate wars, would not intentionally injure or verbally abuse another person.I am lucky to live in a small rural village where everyone knows and respects everyone else. I have never taken illicit drugs (not even SEEN a spliff), people lead sad lives if they have to resort to them for kicks.I agree it would be great if the whole world were like this but it is mankind that uses religion as an excuse for fighting.

Anglican.(.aka : Church of England- Christian- Protestant) ... because my parents are Anglican..so were their parents.....so thats what I have been brought up with...
I like the fact that Anglicans can be religious without any hang-ups...we go into church on a Sunday and come out - and forget about it till next Sunday...we dont preach to others or jump up and down and declare that we are the No:1 religion &. we dont get on our knee's to Icons either.. I agree with Sharon_ Leto - the world should have just 1 religion if you believe that there is a God - and if you dont want to believe anything fair enough - when we kick the bucket we will find out if there is a God...
Why do Muslim's keep Ramming their religion down everyones throats....? keep religion in your hearts & minds - stop the religious rantings...

I'm an Atheist (I believe in no gods) because that's what I've experienced in life (the absence of god) and to that I must be honest and true or I should certainly sacrifice my integrity and, in deed, my whole life's meaning.

POST SCRIPT: Just for laughs... If I was forced to select a belief other than my own from all religions and beliefs posted under this question, I would likely choose Pastafarian -- it would certainly be as reasonable as any other choice... and by far it would be the most fun. LOL

I am Muslim, not because I'm forced to be Muslim where i come from, but because i believe that it is the complete religion. It came after Judaism and Christianity, which is why it is kind of a combination of both, with additional details. It's kind of like the final draft...
It's not true that religion is what is causing the war. My personal opinion is that people WANT war, they dont want peace! Who are they kidding? If they wanted peace they would have gotten it, but they love war. They love to see their enemies suffer, and its not because of religion. They are only BLAMING religion.
If there were no religion at all, there will still be war on wealth, water, oil, food, land, etc. Religion is not the problem.

I'm Wicca. I got into it about 6 years ago now, because it was/is not about guilt and only has one over lying rule "And it harm none, do what you will". It acknowledges that we are all human and are all going to make mistakes but reminds us that all that we can ever do is thee best we can. It doesn't condemn us to some type of eternal hell for making a mistake, just reminds us that what ever we send out will come back to us times three. Also Wicca (and most other Pagan practices) teaches us to act in harmony with nature and to respect it.

Wicca. Because it is a peaceful religion and is earth based. We do not go to war over religions to try to convert others. I assume you are claiming all wars are caused by religious reasons. This is not so. Some are, but wars are caused by those in power who try to rule the world or their part of it.

I'm not answering a question that personal about myself. However, the Univeral Sufi Order (non-Islamic Sufism) believe all religions are sacred and deserve respect. The Universal Sufis came to the United States from India in 1910. They're good people.

Without religion, you wouldnt have this nice country that you live in all safe and sound. And actually through many things like Christian missions we do the world a lot of good.
So God starts wars does he? Which war did God start in the 20th century (the bloodiest of all centuries) ? World War 1? hmmm, nope that was fighting imperialism. World War 2? hmmm nope that was fighting naziism. Vietnam? hmmm nope that was fighting communism. The 1st or 2nd gulf war? hmmm nope that was fighting a tyrant in the middle east.
The problem with humanity isnt religion, its people not following the religion of the one true God, the God of Abraham.
