Are we really perceived as being completely without morals?

I confess I sprayed Lysol on the litter box, consigning thousands of helpless bacterium to a chemical doom -- but it was them or me, baby. I had to protect my family.

I like the idea of the snake being the Prometheus of Genesis. If so, why is Prometheus honored in his myth, but the snake disparaged in the Genesis myth?

God predicted our Jewish Messiah and that he would be for all the world
Isaiah 42 ' He will be a light to all nations.'

Isiah 52:13-53:12 Isaiah predicted here that the Messiah would one day be exaulted but would first be marred more than any man! that he would be despised and rejected, and that he would die for our sins!!!!
"He shall be exalted. He will be marred more than any man. He will be despised and rejected. He will lay down his life to make atonement for our sins and he will die with the wicked and be burried with the rich.
All that Jesus perfectly did--so what is bad about that or letting others know-as a Jew I am proud to know our Messiah.

Now the messiah is my savior and best friend. As he said he would be if we let him into our heart to forgive us and be our friend.

"Behold I love you, and knock on your heart door to come in and deliver from sin and be your friend, if you ask me in to forgive sins and give you power to overcome."
Is God Happy?

I know this is generalizing, but I think it is aninteresting question. For me the answer is definitely Mormons. I have always found Mormons to be very pleasant and enjoyed meeting them as long as the conversation is secular. But I just can't understand their belief system.

I live in the NE of Scotland, I've been a Christian a number of years now. I've been to many churches but can't find the qualities of what I read about in the NT. What I do find is emphesis on is tithing, (which is old covenant and not relevent now), going to church as much as you can, getting involve in "churchy" activities and the mentality of not having anything to do with other churches as the church you are in is the only real church. What I expect to find is love, miricles, healing and an emphesis on reaching the lost......what has gone wrong with the church ????

I Look forward to your replies

Andrew

I refer to Genesis 6:7
And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Could it be that this passage was inserted by an atheist to try and discredit God? An almighty God would never consider destroying his own creation -- including the birds, which never did anything wrong. This is likely a misquote, and a malicious one. Has anyone looked into this issue? Replies from scholars would be appreciated.

How do you come to know, presume or interpret, the infinite word of God that man’s finite wisdom has placed into scrolls ?

Are not holy men charlatans pretending to know the word ?
How can the word written by mortal hands be presumed to be God's words ?

Serious answers please.

Someone just posed a question "why doesn't God send manna from heaven?"

Don't you think the New Testament church has Jesus which is our manna? The bread of life...

or is that an inaccurate interreptation?

I mean, not just about heaven and hell, but they changed the view of heaven and hell to something else. It wouldn't be any different than Dante, Milton or Bishop (Bishop used the ideas of heaven and hell and changed them around and formed an entirely different world where darkness was good). But if it conflicted with your religious views would you automatically give it a thumbs down, especially if it made mention of Lucifer and he wasn't chained up in the bowels of hell?

Or would you be understanding enough to read the story without critizising it for taking religious ideas and changing them around to make an interesting story. Especially when it's stated that the story is not about the author's personal religion, but about writing a story that requires more work (and usually more courage) than a normal story from a fantasy world the writer could easily make up inside their own head.
