What is muslim?

I hear a lot of people talking about the muslim religion and saying how they feel about it. But i want to know what it is.

A Muslim is a person who follows the religion of Islam. The word Muslim literally means one who submits to the will of God. Islam first appeared in the 600's when God sent Muhammad (saws) the Quran (which is like our Bible). From then, the religion spread all across Arabia, down into Africa, to India and Asia, Persia, and into Europe (Spain, Turkey, parts of the Soviet, etc).

Regardless to what anyone tells you, a Muslim is (supposed to be) one of peace.

It came from the Arabic words 'mu' which means 'one' and 'salaam' which means 'peace'. When these words are repeated you get the word 'Muslim'.

The religion of the Muslims is called 'Islam' (the peaceful way) which is the same as the word 'salaam' but with a switch in the first 2 letters which is how Arabic is structured to denote how the word is being used.

A Muslim is not merely a submitter as many would profess but a real Muslim is a peaceful person.

Muslim is a religion. It is where people believe in a god that they call "Allah". They go to mecca to worship their god. They are very religious people. They fast and have something like the bible. The ladies where black dresses. Sometimes it can cover every part of their face except their eyes. Some of them speak in Arabic. That is all I know.

Muslims are the followers of Islam, its a religion founded by Mohammed (PBUH), Mohammed a prophet and a messenger by God, and we believe that he is the last messenger.
In Islam is submission to God, declaring that there is no god but God and that Mohammed is His messenger.
