i believe that we learn much about ourself after death
i believe we are shown how we have affected people in our life and from that our greatest lessons are learned
however i believe we still retain our personality in general for a time after death ... as such lessons do need time for adjustment and change

The same sociality that exist among men here on earth will exist in the life to come. Men may learn or not. Men may be open minded or not. Men may be humble or not. Men may be teachable or not. Men may be stubborn or not. ETC.

The prophets that lived in the bible times are in the after life. They'll be there still teaching and preaching God's truth, because that's what the did on earth. That's what they are called to do. That's what they want to do.

The real question is, "who will listen to them?"

BUT don't forget that this after-life will END with the resurrection. Then men may continue their labors for good.

I doubt it, you have to learn life's lessons while you are alive. You know, it is too late at some point. i really do not think that you get special powers (like understanding things) because you die
