I already have :)

I believe more in a force of energy that binds and connects everything and everyone. I think there is accuracy in every religion and belief.

No one is right or wrong we all have faith in something even if it's faith in nothing.

Just be a good person and live and let live.

PS. In responce to a later answer, Every religion started off as a cult when it was first formed. Those who believed in something else looked on at the smaller religion and likely said the same thing. IT'S A CULT! But then over time they gain followers and earn their place in history as a religion.

Because its a matter of legitimacy and time tested values. You'd be hard pressed the do better than almost any of the well established religions you know the ones that have been around for 2000 years or more. Although quite a number of people do come up with their own.

In most cases I've found that what they come up with is a more convenient religion not necessarily a better one. It there's something they'd like to do that is forbidden by their current religion they come up with a new one. Thus the forbidden activity is now OK.

Even some of the old religions have fallen into this trap. The Roman Catholic church no longer requires women to cover their heads in church or that the mass be performed in latin. I believe these changes were a matter of convenience. Once a Roman Catholic could attend mass at any church in the world and would be able to understand the mass.

I think new religions just create opportunties to make things just a little too convenient. Like the path of least resistance, it makes crooked rivers, roads and crooked men.

This is a very good question!
I think most people enjoy "preset" religions because there is already depth and substance and there is no need to "re-invent the wheel" so to speak. If a religion basically follows your personal beliefs, I can understand why a person would be perfectly comfortable participating in it. An important aspect of organized religion is that it presents a forum in which like-minded people can form community/fellowship.
Coming up with your own "religion" takes a lot of work. But it is particularly useful when you are searching for a community in which to share your beliefs and you find there is not one which exists to meet your needs.
I have found this to be the case for myself. I do not care for the way that the Christian religion has interpreted Jesus' life. Furthermore, I find that current religious forum to be too unbalanced toward male divinity. Meanwhile, it is not the norm in our culture to find community/fellowship that satisfies my need for an untraditional form for spiritual development. Therefore, I do feel compelled to form a practice for myself that fits my beliefs. It is quite a task, but slowly a "religion" or practice is forming that I, and people that share a need for unconventional spiritual development, can practice together.
There are plenty of others also doing this kind of work...it's very exciting to me.

The problem with that is that religion is a search for truth. It is a good idea for you to search for what you feel to be true. But if a religion already existst that has the full truth, then you should follow it. It is my belief that God is a God of order, and he has set up a way for us to find out truth and to return to him. I don't need to start my own religion, because my religion (the LDS church) already teaches that belief along with my other beliefs.

There is already 1 true God, therefore just 1 true religion! Why make something that is fake? Why dont you make your own car while youre at it? Be a leader, not a follower!

I think they call that a cult possibly....lol, anyways, if you feel it will work I guess that's fine. Then again David Koresh tried this and so did Marshall Applewhite and look at what people thought of them.....lol, also, wouldn't just being a good and decent person make up for following any religion at all? that's what I try to do and it's worked for me.

in a sense i have
when asked what i am , i say spiritualist ... although technically , i have adopted many other beliefs to my own
however this isnt wrong in spiritualism , we are encouraged to believe what makes sense to us
so i dont know any spiritualist that believes the exact same as the next
we are all leaders , not followers
