They are really searching for the truth, but don't want to admit it.
Human beings are created to know God. He instilled in us a thirst that will not be satisfied until we reach out to Him for companionship and love.

To atheists, the idea of a god defined to bodily embody "love", and who's both all-powerful and omniscient, is an impossibility at the same time as discomfort and suffering nonetheless exist contained in the international. A being who's absolutely benevolent, and with the skill and knowledge to take any accessible action - yet human beings nonetheless are ravaged with information from disease, raped and murdered, residing in starvation and poverty? it is an impossibility. Now, i understand the former chestnut about the be certain who received't let his baby vacation a bike, for concern of having damage - i.e,. the parental be certain who has the skill to maintain away from discomfort and does so is really doing a disservice to their baby. yet that's a distinct situation: The be certain enables the baby to make mistakes because they don't have the skill to position them right into a captivating life the position mistakes can't in any respect take position. A god does, and it truly is the reason that pronounced would not decrease.

I'm not an Atheist but I surely didn't see a "Christians only" marker on this board. Maybe you could get Yahoo to make a special place just for you. Otherwise I believe this is an open forum for anyone who wishes to talk about religion and spirituality. Even non christians can do that, honest.
Asking someone why they believe in something is nothing more than that - a question. It doesn't mean they secretly want to believe as you do.

Wow, you are living in fantasy land, ever heard of a discussion, have you ever tried having one?
We bring up questions about God to try to show Christians, etc how silly their beliefs are. You are the people who state, for example, that God is all powerful, all creating, all good, all homosexual, etc, and try to have your thoughts and morals become part of society (where we live). We are not bringing up questions about God because we believe he exists, but because we don't and want to show you how childish and silly your thoughts and religion and beliefs are. Since Christians are attempting to have more influence on society and have your morals pushed on others, it is more important than ever to try to expose how silly your thoughts are.

I don't piss off Christians. I'm trying to convey my different beliefs so that a question is answered from as many points of view as possible.
I'm even answering questions about God. Go figure.

Let's turn your question around: why do Christians ask Atheists questions when they're sure God does exist?

The reason i ask questions about god is to 1: gain insight into how people believe such things, and 2: to attempt to have people who do believe in these things to think critically about them.
I am willing to accept the existence of god when someone can convince me... so far, nobody has given me sufficient evidence to do so.

every one is born with an emptiness that can only be filled by God- and so until that person comes to know Him through Jesus there will be an emptiness. If God did not exist like they say, there would not point in asking questions about God, because they would get no answers. Atheists, by the way, do not get me angry. They actually make me sad, because they are missing out on living their lives for the one that created them. I am also sad because one day all there questions will be answered- and they will find out there is a God and then it will be too late. Jesus is calling each and every one of us to call upon His name of salvation. It is our choice if we accept Him or not- ONE DAY EVERY KNEE WILL BOW AND EVERY TONGUE CONFESS THAT JESUS IS LORD- keep asking those questions and I will keep praying that you find God to be true.

No atheist is 'so sure'. We're just pretty sure god doesn't exist, and we're not going to be ambivilent about it and say 'well maybe he does' until someone comes up with some evidence. You've had 2000 years now - no proof so far.
We're trying to help, actually.

If you saw a bunch of people running around saying the sky is falling, wouldn't you ask a few questions?
