The main problem is that most people suffering from terminal illnesses, by the time they decide euthanasia would be the preferrable choice, can't get out to a clinic on their own. It would have to be available in home visits. I think that, as long as there are strict controls to make sure nobody is murdered against their will, this is the kindest service we can provide.

As hard as it would be to see a loved one die slowly, I do not believe that euthanasia clinics should be opened. Why, do I believe this? Because I believe in the sanctity of human life, from the time of conception in the womb until the Lord takes the person out of this life. I would not like to suffer a long death either, but it is not up to me or someone here on earth to tell the dr when my time is up. That would be like saying, lets abort this child because they will suffer here on earth. NO NO NO NOT A GOOD IDEA

I don't really see why we'd need a clinic for it, but I could see making it legal for it to be done.

Personally I don't want to die after lying in bed for a few years, I'd be trying to drag it out into traffic if I could manage it. But I see absolutely no reason to give the potential for a central location for the lunatics against it to kill people, while I could possibly find the irony in a euthanasia clinic bombing amusing.

A few legal methods, licensing and then I'd say it could work, but clinics just aren't needed.

I support the idea of euthanasia, but to have accessible clinics may be too much. What if someone is suffering from depression? Can they just walk into a clinic and have themselves euthanized?

Yes, it is the only humane choice, if it is weighed carefully, assessed for it's truth and honesty in the person to die.

Actually, I live in Holland, so euthanasia is legal here (as I'm sure Bill O' Reilly told all of you on Oprah). Of course, we don't just toss a coin to decide. I actually very much agree with this system.

thrilling question. I do have confidence that terminal sufferers might desire to have their mind-blowing to choose while to end their very very own existence, to be waiting to die with some dignity. yet there are problems with allowing assisted suicide. One concern is one that Jasmer has reported, that there are assorted different components in play while it is composed of the dying of a kin member. i know many right here in all probability ever won't be in a position to think of somebody taking great thing approximately a project like that for private benefit yet i'm able to assure you it occurs extra many times than human beings can think of. Greed might reason human beings to do the main unthinkable. additionally the place do you draw the line? might desire to easily the terminal have the alternative? What approximately somebody with a genetic ailment the place an early dying is inevitable however the ailment has not yet began to coach? might desire to human beings laid low with melancholy or different psychological ailments be allowed to make the determination? what's the adaptation between a terminally ill man or woman? Why do not I actual have the alternative if somebody else does? I deal particularly in many situations with people who're attempting to take their very very own existence. many situations that's purely a cry for help, different time the finished intent replace into to die. there are maximum of situations the place they get well. Had they been allowed to easily elect to end their existence on their words, they does not be right here.

i completely agree with you it should be free. But the problems that could arise with this is that you could have people who don't want to live anymore with no medical problems going there . I think it should be available though but the correct precautions should be taken such as medically examining the person to check that they're for real and also maybe counselling to check that it's what they really want. Or even if there are other options or surgery which may prolong or save their life.

Yes. People with a terminal illness could go and be put out of their misery. I believe that was the original intent, but it could also be used for suicides. What of the people who take pills, or jump, or hang themselves? Those are really painful ways to die. A suicide could go to the clinic and just be put to sleep. It'd be less painful and not as messy.

Just putting a positive spin on another consequence of it.

I think it's a basic human right to be able to have control over your own demise. If someone has an incurable disease it's only fair that they be able to choose when to end their lives instead of being forced to endure an agonizing death.

In that respect it seems we care more for our pets than we do our family members.

Probably. I think we need to be careful about it, but I support the "die with dignity" movement.
