How do we forgive ourselves and move on?

After about 3 years of being a Christian(it's been like 25 now)I asked silently as I lay in bed,"Did I do everything right,are you really in me ,I don't feel any different?"
Bam!! I got such a shock of like electricity through me, I jerked like a fish.
"Okay", I said,and never questioned that again.
I'm not big on all that floaty spiritual stuff, but that did happen.
Then I really did forgive myself as I knew He did,for all the dumb crap I'd done.Otherwise He wouldn't have bothered answering me.

You are forgiven for your sins when you ask God to forgive you.
Knowing you have the Holy Ghost is like knowing when to eat: No one will have to tell you because you will feel it.
