What is a "True Muslim"..?? please let me know?

Muslims believe that Islam existed long before Muhammad. The Koran [Ar. qu'ran (قران), recitation] describes as Muslims many Biblical prophets and messengers: Adam, Noah (Arabic: Nuh), Moses (Arabic: Musa) and Jesus (Arabic: Isa) and his apostles. The Koran states that these men were Muslims because they submitted to God, preached His message and upheld His values. Thus, in Surah 3 v52 of the Koran, Jesus’ disciples tell Jesus: “do thou bear witness that we are Muslims”.

Most Muslims accept as a Muslim anyone who has publicly pronounced the Shahada, which states, "There is none worthy of worship except Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger." This is often translated as, "There is no god except Allah," however "Allah" is the Arabic word for "the God".

A true muslim is a person who obeys Allah.
A muslim have to belive in the Creed wich is " There is no god than Allah and Muhammad is his messenger". Muslims according to the rules are not allowed to say that they are better than their muslim brother or sister. You can not say that "I'm a better muslim just because of that i pray five times and u don't" Or doesn't wear the hijab (head scarf).
The most important thing is to respect Islam and not to missuse the religion.
I've met many muslims who can make Islam look totally different from what it actually is but u have to always remember that different individuals make their own religious aspects. Just becaus u have met one person who may be a fanatic it doesnt make everyone a fanatatic. Hope I answered your questions. Feel free to ask more about it.. Bye =)

A true Muslim is one who says that he/she is a Muslim and then behaves like a Muslim. A person becomes a Muslim when one says: "There is no god but God and Muhammad is His Messenger."

It's someone who adheres to the Prophet Muhammad and his companions. And what means by the Prophet Muhammad, is his sayings and the Qur'aan.

Islaam comes before everything, our school work, and the likes evolve around it.


Islam means submitting to Allaah, worshipping Him alone and obeying Him, and shunning shirk (polytheism, associating others with Allaah) and those who believe in that. This is the religion which Allaah approves for His slaves. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Truly, the religion with Allaah is Islam”

[Aal- ‘Imraan 3:19]

“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers”

[Aal ‘Imraan 3:85]

The person who enters this religion is called a Muslim (one who submits), because he has submitted (aslama) to all the rulings that have come from Allaah and from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And who turns away from the religion of Ibraaheem (Abraham) (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) except him who befools himself? Truly, We chose him in this world and verily, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous.

When his Lord said to him, ‘Submit (i.e. be a Muslim)!’ He said, ‘I have submitted myself (as a Muslim) to the Lord of the ‘Aalameen (mankind, jinn and all that exists).’” [al-Baqarah 2:130-131]

“Yes, but whoever submits his face (himself) to Allaah (i.e. follows Allaah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism) and he is a Muhsin ( a doer of good who does good deeds solely for the sake of Allaah) then his reward is with his Lord (Allaah), on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve”

[al-Baqarah 2:112].

Islam in arabic means "total surrender" and that means surrender to God's will, so it's more like a label for those who believe in God and surrender totally to his orders but that's something that is rarely seen don't you agree?
