I am trying to learn so please dont be rude. Why do catholics pray to a pope and a mother mary? I thought god and jesus were the only ones that can forgive us and accept us into heaven and also the only ones to forgive us of our sins?

This movie used to be shown around Christmas. It's about 3 kids who witness a spirit from the sky and the whole town goes to witness miracles which actually occur and one of the children who turns out to be a beautiful nun at the end. It's my Favorite movie and I can't find it.

you die? If you were to die tomorrow, what do you believe happens that very second you take your last breath & what is the foundation for your belief? Or are you still seeking an answer and where do you look? I know this question has been asked before as it showed as a smiliar question already asked (didn't check when). However, there are always different people on line at different times and everyone has their own opinion. I'm curious and interested in what others believe. I remember before I became a Christian (yes, I'm one of those), I use to think hell was right here on earth. I wanted to believe in reincarnation (can't even spell it now) because it was comforting. But what do you believe happens? Please, serious answers only, there is no need for sarcasm, just seeking some honest answers. Thanks.

The mormons have isolated groups where old men practice polygamy and couples are forced to arrange marriages with them, basically sending their daughter to be a sex slave to some 70 yr old pedo while young boys are dumped on the side of the road to fend for themselves. Most of these prisoners are under the age of 16.
And we all know about the Catholic church and their attempts to coverup a history of child molestation from their priests.
There are many other examples, but why do you think that is?

It's about the rise of a church targeting college students. Its overly strict doctrines and cattle-calling practices of the Great Commission are leading people to call it a cult. Please give your opinion? If the article is too long, then just skim it. The writer is very verbose (but bases everything on scripture), so try to get the main points, for your time's sake. Thanks!

To the point:
God loves us enough to send Jesus to die for us. And by His blood we are washed clean of all sins. Through Jesus we can now talk with God. - It's true. And we are offered eternity.

Without sounding foolish I really don’t get it.

They say Jesus was born between 1-4 BC. If BC means Before Christ, how could he be born up to 1 and 4 years before he existed?

They say “The New Testament” was written by various authors after 45 AD and before 140 AD. Does this mean nothing was written for 45 years after his death, or was some written during his life?

So if BC is before and AD is after death, what did they call the years while he was alive?
