The mormons have isolated groups where old men practice polygamy and couples are forced to arrange marriages with them, basically sending their daughter to be a sex slave to some 70 yr old pedo while young boys are dumped on the side of the road to fend for themselves. Most of these prisoners are under the age of 16.
And we all know about the Catholic church and their attempts to coverup a history of child molestation from their priests.
There are many other examples, but why do you think that is?

Ever watch to catch a predator? Pedos are everywhere, from every walk of life. Like cockroaches they are everywhere and when you get rid of one, 10,000 others show up. I mean really, 20 years ago we didn't even have to lock our doors. As kids we roamed all over the neighborhood, not a care in the world, but to have fun. This is the sick perverted world we live in and it will get worse. Why? Because people and the world are jacked up.

Probably no more so, maybe even fewer, than in the general population. We just hold them to a higher standard, and so they get more press when they transgress. Also, people just love to hear about a fallen idol, that someone who has set himself above the herd has feet of clay, and their interest sells more newspapers, so the newspapers find more stories.
I know a family in Tennessee that forced their 14 year old daughter to marry an older man--even had the state police go out of state to get her and bring her home when she ran away. It was just common practice there, so it's not anything you'd ever read about.
Don't judge any group by what you see on the evening news. (Don't even believe what you see on the evening news!)

You have it backwards. It is religion that attracts a pedophile because of the "confidentiality" between clergy and those they minister to. It is a chance to hide.
You will find the same people are drawn to schools, and medical institutions. You will find an equal incidence in those settings. It offers those who wish to prey on the vulnerable a good place to hide.

sway has it right. it is for the same reason many teachers are pedo. also many little league coaches and girl/boy scout leaders. its because a predator goes to where the prey is easy to find. Its the same principle of a lion staking out a waterhole in africa. its all about access to prey

The catholic church requires clergy to be celabate which causes problems. Other cults use the power they get to achieve their true goal which is sex.

Actually, more people OUTSIDE of religious association are pedophillic (like the international political party NAMBLA). Those in religious association are more high-profile because we hold them to a higher standard.

Maybe the same reason many teachers are as well. Why dont we ask about them, at least with religion people have a choice, every kid has to go to school.
