I think of myself as a Christian but I dont believe in the Old Testament. I think the New Testament is more accurate. There was a man called Jesus Christ, 2000 years back, who went around performing miracles and trying to help people - a prophet. There were many prophets in those days. I think its a good idea that we try to model ourselves on how or what Jesus would do. My only reservation in all of this is that a number of Books or Gospels that shouldve been included in the NT were not for some reason, perhaps an embarrassment to the Church, I dont really know. Maybe, we are only getting half the picture of what Jesus was really like.

I used to be Christian. Now I practice good morals and respect all religions and races.

I was taught when growing up that Jesus is the son of god and that he roamed the earth 2000 years ago. When I got older, I noticed that other faiths had similar figures in their teachings. e.g. Mohamed, Buddha, etc. My question inside was, who's right and who's wrong. And that has been an never-ending discussion amongst radical religious people. To avoid all the drama and hatred being spewed between these faiths, I took a step back to reflect. I believe that Jesus wasn't someone we need to idolize and put on a pedestal. He may very well be an example to all of man-kind on how to treat each other. With love and compassion. Jesus to me is like reading about a character in a novel who at the end leaves us with morals and food for thought.

I have done a lot of research on the subject of early Christianity and the historical Jesus. From all of the evidence that i have examined I'm confident in saying that there probably was a man named Yeshua (later translated to Jesus) who led a small band of followers, was an apocalyptic Jew, gave sermons on heretical (at the time) beliefs, and was ultimately charged as a criminal and put to death by Crucifixion. That is all we can know with any certainty. The truth about much that is written about Jesus in the NT ranges from doubtful to highly improbable.

why is there no book of Jesus? that is the gospel according to Jesus... he's the man, right?

how come Socrates never wrote anything? the only records we have of Socrates comes from Plato. Plato would tell of "his old teacher" whenever suggesting something particularly out of this world. i think the same thing happened with Jesus. yes, there is historic evidence suggesting that a man named Jesus was crucified for heresy around the time, but there is just about no other references to him anywhere else.

the "works" of Jesus, in my opinion, were performed by several people. what we hear about is heavilly exagurated, if not completely false, but i do think that good works were done, if not by Jesus, then by his followers that have been attributed to Jesus.

remember: conspiracy is conspiracy... you get a handful of people to support your buddy to the end of the earth, anything could happen. do you really think that the son of god would chose to associate with fishermen, tax collectors, prostitutes, laborers, the untouchables in the arab caste system?

I am a Christian, but Jesus was a Jew. The Jewish people believe Jesus existed, but though they may believe that he was a wise prophet they do not believe him to be the son of God.

I don't know whether or not Jesus existed. If he did exist, he may have been a leader or a rabble-rouser. The attributes given to him in the New Testament are also held by some earlier pagan gods, which is why I'm not sure the guy ever existed.

I believe that Jesus lived and tried to teach people to love and respect each other, to do good things for each other, to forgive and not judge. A man of peace, love, kindness, generosity, and forgiveness.

I do not believe that Jesus is the son of God nor do I believe that he is God. More like a prophet of God, if you will, in that he had profound moral insight.

The records of Jesus are so muddled that it is highly doubtful that we can get an accurate picture of who he was.

Based on what we do know and with a great deal of speculation; he was a teacher and revolutionary. While his coup was successful in the long run he did end up being a martyr for his cause.

Jesus was just a dude with a beard and sandels, who, for the most, taught some pretty damn good ideas. I mean, forgiveness, love, peace? Sounds good to me. I don't believe in God, or that Jesus was indeed, Christ, but I think the guy had something to say.

Just another man-you see there were many many men back in his day that performed the same magic tricks as he did and said they were the son of God.One of them was named Appolonias and yes he walked on water and supposedly healed the sick and brought the dead back to life--Muslims believe Jesus was just a profit like Muhammed..
