Because Irving Berlin - who was Jewish - wrote the song about America. I can *almost* guarantee you that "God bless America" was not in popular usage until Irving Berlin wrote the song.

Actually, I'm American, and I'd rather he didn't. If the Holy Land is any indication of what happens when you get blessed by god, they can keep him.

Cause I would really like it if God would protect the US, seeing as that's where I live.
