It is my understanding that Ancient Egypt was very different to the way it was written about in Exodus, that there were no slaves and that there is no record dof any of the "plagues" happening.

Am I wrong about this? Is there any extra-biblical evidence to back the Biblical version up?

And we all know God keeps his word.

Exodus 12:29
29Now it came about at midnight that the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of cattle.

2 Kings 2:23
Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, "Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!" 24When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number.

I was wondering if you think when God delivers you from an addiction you should still be tempted...

I have smoked for 8 years (a pack a day), and my husband and I recently rededicated our lives to God and decided to quit. Today marks 72 hours since I've quit, and it has been so hard. I almost bought cigarettes yesterday... but I didn't. I'm still so tempted though. Do you think it is normal to still be tempted even if God has delivered me from an addiction?

Genesis 3:1-5

1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?" 2 The woman said to the serpent, "From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; 3 but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.' " 4 The serpent said to the woman, "You surely will not die! 5 "For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

The hebrew word for serpent is nachash which means burning one. The idea being that when a snake bit you the venom burned as it entered your body.

It makes more sense to me than some snake. The beasts of the field thing means it was smarter. Man is more cunning than the beasts too...

What are your thoughts?

The Debate over evolution vs. creation rages on. on one side you have the strict darwinian theorists and then you have the creationist who quote the bible like one would recite the alphabet.
I want everyone who responds to this to read my apologetic at http://www.geocities.com/patrickmaloney26/How.html then if you still feel that Creation is the end all be all and "solo scriptura" is what you believe then prove your point with reason. If your a darwinian then prove your point with reason. put some thought into it.

For the record I am a Catholic who believes in Creationism and I believe that Science can support my belief not that it refutes it. I do not argue the point with evolutionist that the earth is billions of years old in fact I agree.

No matter how many thumbs-down I'm going to get, you simply cannot make me believe in another way. There is nothing you can do or say that will stop making me a Christian.

Remember, Christians aren't perfect so we break the Ten Commandments too.

why do you confess your sins to man when you can go to God yourself. its like your putting that priest which is a man like anyone else, up there with God and thats not right. i kinda feel like basically he is telling you, your not good enough to speak with God but i am so tell me your sins and i will ask forgivness for you. BUT nobody can ask for forgivness but you.

Do you see it as failed diplomacy?
Do you see it as a temper tantrum?
What do you see it as?

here. I see where the word is translated based on the different texts used. Is the word used in KJV "mules" in Old English a different meaning than what we commonly know it to mean today? It seems like the text the KJV used maybe was in error? Just curious.

Do you have to be blessed with the spirit to ignore the slaughter and oppression.

You you have to be spiritually blind to not see that the love and Jesus' sacrifice outweighs the jealousy and genocide?

Then Adam learnt from his Lord certain words of prayer. So He turned towards him with mercy. Surely, He is Oft-Returning with compassion, and is Merciful.

Indeed, We have honoured the children of Adam, and We carry them by land and sea, and provide them with good things and have exalted them far above many of those whom We have created.

I am not gay, I am married to a man, also I am Catholic, but why is it that when someone says they are gay you look down on them? Doesn't the bible say not to judge people? I think it does, I have not read it, but I am almost positive it does. I think it also says it is not o.k. to be gay (not sure about that one either), but again, almost positive it does. So even though it says it's a sin, doesn't mean you have the right to judge them.

He should touch it and repeat the following mantra:
"Whatever semen of mine has spilt on earth, whatever has flowed to plants, whatever to water, I reclaim it."
With these words he should take the semen with his ring finger and thumb and rub it between his breasts or eyebrows, repeating the following mantra:
"Let the semen return to me, let Vigour come to me again, let glow and good fortune come to me again. May the deities who dwell in the sacrificial fire put the semen back in its proper place."
