The answers I'm seeing here are incredibly disheartening.
Homosexuals are normal, upstanding members of this society. It's only a "sin" because the Bible says it is, and even then it doesn't say why. It's not a 'choice', unless you 'chose' to be a heterosexual.
I've seen condescending answers here about 'hating the sin, but loving the person'. It's still a cop-out to being a bigot. It's also a cop-out to say "It's not man's problem, it's GOD's problem." That's still a cop-out and an illogical argument. Did not God create these people to be homosexual?? You can assert all you want that 'god hates fags', but you're taking responsibility for advocating it because you support a god who hates people with sexual attractions that he allegedly instilled in them in the first place. It just goes to show how Christians will twist their doctrine in any way possible to persecute a particular people.
The number of thumbs-down ratings I get will show the Yahoo! Answers community just how many bigots and homophobes we have running around these forums. I'm sick and tired of fellow human beings being judged according to things that don't really matter in the long run. Several years ago, before Martin Luther King came around, we were saying similar things about black people.
Let's not fall into the Dark Ages again. People in this country can't tolerate anything other than the status quo, and a big part of it is because of the religious right. They need to step down.

You're right, people have no right to judge others. One sin reaps the same punishment as another. Yes the Bible does say that those who practice homosexuality will not inherit the Kingdom, and no it does not say it's okay to be gay, and so we as Christians refrain from these practices. I'm sorry if some people judge others, it's our imperfect inclination to do what is bad, even the Apostle Paul is quoted in the Bible as saying:
"For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, there dwells nothing good; for ability to wish is present with me, but ability to work out what is fine is not [present]. 19 For the good that I wish I do not do, but the bad that I do not wish is what I practice. 20 If, now, what I do not wish is what I do, the one working it out is no longer I, but the sin dwelling in me." (Roman 7:18-20)
Thankfully God is the real Judge, not imperfect man.

Alot of traditional Catholics are formally conditioned at an early age to equate the homosexual lifestyle to be "bad" and therefore they will nothing to do with it. The problem with this conditioning is that the child never views a culture/lifestyle from another person's point of view. I know I was at an early age, and thank God now I can think more rationally and clearly without formal conditioning being shoved down my throat. I'm not gay but I do believe that a person has his own right to do what he pleases and that puts me in a position where some traditional Catholics I used to know will have nothing to do with them or me.

People like to judge because it makes them feel special to declare someone is going to hell. They then declare they aren't judging, but if you point out something they need to stop doing, well you are judging. they uses a standard to judge others, but do not want that same standard used to judge them.
Why don't you know these things? Read the New Testament starting with Matthew and and reread it and after about three times you will know these things and not have to guess at it.

The Bible specifically states that homosexuality is an abomination to God. It's not that we don't like gay people, it's that God didn't create us adam and steve, with madam and eve. He created us man and woman. It was not us who judged homosexuality as sexual immorality, it was God that did. So don't act as though we created that law. It also says in the bible to uphold Gods law before mans law. We aren't supposed to judge, but we aren't supposed to associate ourselves with sin either. (the bible also says that) 1 Corinthians 6:17 Therefore “come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord, “and touch no unclean thing, 1 and I will welcome 2 you, 3
Hebrews
7:26 For it is indeed fitting for us to have such a high priest: holy, innocent, undefiled, separate from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.
1 Corinthians 6:9
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders
1 Timothy 1:9
realizing that law 1 is not intended for a righteous person, but for lawless and rebellious people, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, sexually immoral people, practicing homosexuals, 1 kidnappers, liars, perjurers – in fact, for any who live contrary to sound teaching.

Sounds like you should educate yourself on the Bible if you are going to be using it as a basis for an absurd question.
I am a Roman Catholic Republican. I think it is fine for homosexuals to live their lives in peace and without judgment. Unfortunately, they are not the only people in this world who are unfairly judged.

To Lion of Judah:
Why is homosexuality wrong?! It really p*sses me off when people say being gay is a sin! Why is it? Why should we deny someone the feeling of loving and being loved in that way, like any other heterosexual is, just because they are gay. Homosexuals have feelings too. Nobody can control who they fall for or what they like, and if someone likes someone of the same sex then so be it! So why shouldn't they have the same rights as any other person and be able to express who they are without being looked down on, they are still people!

I would encourage you to read the bible, study it, and not base your opinions on your feelings or on other men's impressions. Study it yourself. Pray and ask God to reveal His truth to you.
Do you really know what the bible teaches about "judging"? Or the dreadfulness of sin? Or the consequences of disobeying God's word?
Do you know what Paul's writings teach us about homosexuality? what did Jesus say about sexual behavior in general? What did Jesus mean when He told us to examine the fruits of someone's life?
A lot of your questions would be answered by a careful and prayerful study of God's word.
god bless!!

The issue is not how we personally feel about gays as Christians. The issue is more how GOD feels about gays. People are soo concerned with what Christians think and how we're going to react that they forget we do not have the power to send them to hell, GOD DOES.
If I were you I would start reading the Bible and worry about what people think. And until Christians start lynching gays, hanging them in trees, dragging them behind cars, dont talk about judgment because you dont even know what it is to be judged.

you really need to read the Bible for yourself, so you will know what it really said and what doesn't say.
the Bible does say "not to judge, lest ye be Judged".. that doesn't mean judged of God but by others.. for example: if I say you are dumb (not that I think that) then your response would be "well you are too!" we just judged each other.
yet we all forget one important thing, God does tell us to judge... he told us to "judge another's fruits to see that they be from God" Example: I can tell if someone is a Christian by the life they live.. God gave us common sense to help us recognize each other.
he gave us the brain to judge.. if you could not judge, you couldn't drive, you couldn't work a job, you couldn't shop wisely, yet God instilled us with a mind of judgment to be able to do many things.
the only judgment that we are to do, is outlined in his word. we know something is pleasing or dis-pleasing to God through the common sense (that he gave us) and through his word.
