Because so many people cannot just live and let live. If I choose to be Christian leave it alone. Unless I am one of those in-your-face religious people who try to convert everyone they see, leave me alone as I will you. (I say this because these kinds of people are just asking for the uprise against them)
There are 3 topics which I refuse to speak about with certain people for obvious reasons, RELIGION, ABORTION, & POLITICS. Unless you can effectively and cohesively sit down and have a mutally respecful & educational verbal exchange about any of the above 3 topics it is just not worth the breath. I am the type who is willing to hear other points of view at all times - I can always learn something new, whether or not I choose to buy into it. I can still agree to disagree and be respectful of another's views. most people I know and run into are not capable of that. They just get defensive and shut themselves down to hearing other possibilities and ideas - they take personally the views of others which is what causes such polarization concerning these topics. I am a practicing Christian and involved in my church, I am avidly pro-choice because it is no one else's right to make decisions for another, and I think all politicians are just fulfilling their own personal agendas. I still vote, but I am one of those who definitely weighs the pros & cons of EVERY possible candidate, not just what appears to be the 2-party democractic system we have between the Reps & Dems. Look closely and there really is not a whole lot of difference as far as running this country...
I do have to say tho, I have a few Muslim friends and acquaintances and they are all very friendly and loving. If anything, they are the furthest thing from violent or hateful; in actuality, the true practicing Muslims are much like true practicing Christians who would much rather not have to defend their religious affiliations and try not to draw attention to it. Unfortunately for Muslims they have a specific "look" or dress which makes them stick out like sore thumbs, and I know many of them have chosen to disregard that practice in the US to avoid sticking out so much. Unless I wear a cross on my chest no one knows without asking me directly that I am Christian.
Muslims are just as accepting of other religions as others; again, we have an entire group of people being stigmatized thanks to a few extremists. It's not right, and it really does need to stop. Get to know people before you make those judgements. Trust me - it makes a world of difference, and you are a better person for it.
Love thy enemy, or the perceived enemy. You just might learn something.

When people are in trouble they turn to religion and GOD for help. When they are enjoying life they make fun of those who suffer and also those who are religious. Thats the reason why GOD eventually gives them trouble so that they turn to HIM for help. Moreover people make fun of other religions because they do not understand it. Every religion has some plus points in terms of view of life. We have got a lot to learn from other religions as well. During a catastrophe like earthquake or tsunami people of all religions unite together. Hence GOD is forced to give such trouble to people so that people may unite at least during a catastrophe. Did you notice that people help others during earthquake but never help otherwise. There are people suffering all the time and they need help. I belong to Hinduism but know a great deal about Christianity and Islam (Muslim) and have many dear friends from all other religions. We must use religion to unite us. Because all GOD fearing people have a tendency to do more good than those who are do not believe in GOD. Here is a good story. During a sudden cyclone people ran helter skelter and some went into a church some into a mosque and some into a temple. After the cylcone the Hindu was upset because he took shelter in a Mosque and the Christian was angry with himself for rushing into a temple. So people who make fun of other religions are begging for a catastrophe.

From my perspective (a Christian one), I find that many people who attack a persons chosen faith or religion (that being the way they chose to live/express their faith), are also bigoted against anything and/or everything that is 'different' to what they beleive themselves (ELDAD9 is a prime example). They are ego-centric and are shut off to learning about others faith or even accepting that people have a right to beleive whatever they like.
Be the best that YOU can be, whether it be Muslim, Christian or whatever.

Making fun is pointless. Criticism, on the other hand, has a point. Fundamentalism from every religion needs to be challenged, because it's destructive of human beings, human communities, and the planet itself.
Muslim fundamentalism is a particular problem because although other religions have large liberal segments who have been struggling for generations to incorporate modern thought into their worldviews, Islam has no such liberal voice to speak of: no chorus of scholars calling for rational criticism of the Qur'an and Sunnah, for example; no large movements of believers asking for ancient religious dogmas to be relativized. In short, no real, broad engagement with modernity. Islam needs that desperately: basically, it needs a reformation. That's why people tend to be so critical of Islam here.

There are some people in all religions that refuse to tolerate anyone that does not think the same as they do. It does not make them right, it simply shows their ignorance. We are one world and when we finally realize that we can work together for the betterment of mankind. Until then we are doomed to hate and kill in the name of God.

I don't want to hurt feelings, but many who study this medium do. They take pride in tearing down the works of others.
Personally I don't follow your religion, and do feel that it is the wrong one, but allow me to feel as I do because I belong to the true God; Jehovah. I follow his teachings through Jesus as you do your own belief. Careful study shows similarities.
We teach those who will listen, but kindly.
What you do with your studies is up to you. It does make us happy when studants see the light and continue doing what we are taught is correct.
If your going to stay with your faith, stay prepared for a fight......They won't quit tormenting you. But we can be friends...
Look over our link below. It's a study link and you could learn from it.........Be blessed with knowledge..

Brace yourself honey. You have just entered the real world. Know this, when you have cried today, tomorrow comes and so will the hurt. Look to your God and stand on his words. He will never leave you or forsake you.
