The Debate over evolution vs. creation rages on. on one side you have the strict darwinian theorists and then you have the creationist who quote the bible like one would recite the alphabet.
I want everyone who responds to this to read my apologetic at http://www.geocities.com/patrickmaloney26/How.html then if you still feel that Creation is the end all be all and "solo scriptura" is what you believe then prove your point with reason. If your a darwinian then prove your point with reason. put some thought into it.

For the record I am a Catholic who believes in Creationism and I believe that Science can support my belief not that it refutes it. I do not argue the point with evolutionist that the earth is billions of years old in fact I agree.

The question was concise and I think pretty straight forward... you were to read an essay then prove your point using logic and reason as it relates to the Creation vs. evolution debate. I did just that in my essay and I think it is clear that both can be true. Not one of the answers have been put forth offering your opinion... conjecture and arguement sure but personal thoughts no. so to that end I will not choose the best answer. In my opinion there was none.

I think your way of thinking is how religion is going to have to think if they're going to be taken seriously.

There's a great book you should read. It's a fiction but I had your same question myself..Angels and Demons By Dan Brown..but truly the debate will never end, it's only human nature to fight what we are taught to believe and what we want to believe.
As for how I feel about it........I have a hard time believing the Creationism because science has provided proff that all things have evolved so why wouldn't we..but at the same time to there are so many beautiful stories on Creationism from so many cultures that I'm sure that the both instants could co-exist..after all who or what could have started the ENTIRE universe

There is no debate. Creationism is proven false. Some people simply don't know enough about science to understand this.

But as I said, there is no debate to be had about the subject. Scientists just don't feel that it's their duty to go on a "crusade" to educate the masses. They've reported their findings, and that's all they care about. If uneducated people don't want to read up on the subject, that is their own problem.

Look at the Hubris on this page...Oh, my paper has been postive voted on every peer blah blah blah...my views are right because scientist say so...my views are right becuase the Bible says so...and it is Word so if you don't believe it you are going to hell...

People...don't you see you are arguing so YOU can be right...instead of discussing what is actually right.... In fact, who the hell cares if it was Creation or Evolution...

If this argument is stopping you from being a good citizen...you need to re-evaluate your views...It is not about being right people...it is about doing the RIGHT THING regardless if the person for whom you give help agrees with you or not.

I never could get the theory that we evolved from a single cell flat worm that fed of the bottom of the ocean floor. This leads the question, what did it feed on? Did God create the food?

I know what you mean. I'm a strong supporter of the pro-life movement. I am absolutely against abortion, but I support my argument with sound reasoning and scientific data as well as scriptural. For Christians to be taken seriously, they also need to prove that they can be logical and not just emotional. I'm a Christian, but I know what you mean.

i agree there better things to be concern like since God made us if we are worth to be where he is in his kingdom? he made the animals that we are to be Dominion like in charge of them and take care of them.fish never had feet or walked the earth when God created man Adam. he was created in God image when man states that we came from apes then you are calling God a ape? idon't think so neither is he a fish with feet!

Good post, Thanks.

Why do people forget it's called the THEORY of evolution?

Patrick, this debate will never end as long as there's believers and non believers... it's like religion!

You're at the kidding. Evolution of species is a fact and no amount of creationist apologetics or misinformation and lies challenges that. Yes we can end the debate-creationists can accept the inevitable truth about biological evolution and forget their meaningless fantasies.

There is no debate.

Only religious fanatics reject evolution (and don't even understand it). And only in very certain countries.

Even the _pope_ has no problem with evolution.

Centuries ago there was a similar 'debate' between heliocentrists and geocentrists.
